Topic: Question: Deleting posts & Raffle Advertisements

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

o7 everyone,
Can I as the uploader delete a post, if so were can I do this?
Is it allowed to promote their off-site raffles?

Both questions are tied indirectly together. Thank you all for your answer :)

you can flag your own stuff for deletion but cannot outright delete it yourself.

raffles depends. if you post an image with a raffle ad in the image itself it will most likely be taken down.

if you post an image an link to a raffle in the description it would most likely be fine.

makes sense, I wasn't sure since this platform is more like a database of all the arts that has been created and obviously uploaded here 😅

Correction. You, as the uploader, do not have the ability to flag or request for your own uploads to be taken down. This applies to third-party uploaders, who repost other artist's artwork.
However, as the artist/commissioner/copyright holder, you can request for takedowns here.

If you want to promote off-site raffles or services, please read the advertisement rule before doing so.
You may not upload temporary/WIP promotional artworks that you plan to delete after the raffle.
You may not promote your raffle/services in the comments or forum posts, but you may only do so in the description of your own artworks or in your artist bio.

Wait why can I flag my own uploads then? Or do you just mean you aren’t supposed to?

Thank you for the clarification!

You can flag your own uploads because any user can flag any post for any reason at any time.
A flag does not necessarily mean that the post will be deleted, just that a staff member will review it.

What Wolfgang said is correct.

No I know a flag doesn’t mean it will 100% get deleted, but got confused by the wording! Thank you!

Sorry, what I meant was that uploaders cannot delete their own posts since they don't "own" them (unless they are the artist).
There is also no flag option that says "I don't want it up anymore.", so the only way for a post to get deleted is for the artists/copyright holder to request a takedown themselves.
