Reason: The Mega Man series as a term is somewhat confusing. It can both mean the franchise as a whole, or just the original series without all the subseries it spawned (like mega_man_x_(series)).

At first I just wanted to change the megaman_(classic) tag to match the formatting of the other ones, but that's when I noticed the tag was created haphazardly with no implications or description to denote the original series, because it lacks its own distinct tag otherwise.
Currently, mega_man_(series) acts an umbrella tag for the entire franchise. All the subseries imply it (except the original series), but also a lot of characters imply it rather than their own subseries, which doesn't feel right.

Hence this BUR, which consists of:

  • Creating a tag for the original series.
  • Tidying up the mega_man_(series) tag to work as an umbrella for all the subseries and franchise as a whole, which means moving a lot of the implications to their specific subseries. Things that exist across multiple subseries remain attached to this tag.
  • Renaming mega_man_(series) into mega_man_(franchise)to further distinguish it from the original series. Please voice if it seems unnecessary.

Reason: I figured that since I'm being thorough with the franchise, now would be a good time to add the Mega Man Archie Comics into the mix. They don't have a tag despite some characters being exclusive to them, Quake Woman and Vesper Woman being the ones of interest here.

Similarly, Worlds Collide and Worlds Unite are two series of crossover comics between Mega Man and Sonic made by Archie Comics. They could use the implication.
