That's what featureless_crotch is for. I don't think it makes sense to use perineum for that.

I suppose you could say that, without an anus and/or genitals to provide context, how would you know if it's the perineum or not? :\

A likely reason for perineum -anus -genitals is a jockstrap covering the balls and creating a bulge.

Otherwise, if it's a covering_crotch/convenient_censorship thing, I guess you could get philosophical about whether it's still a perineum, but I think it makes sense to tag it as such, as there's no alternative tag to use.

Apparently, perineum is on the official list of explicit things (https://e621.net/help/ratings ). That feels a bit unintuitive, since for post #3639879, if the right foot was raised slightly higher, it would suddenly be "questionable" instead of "explicit", but I suppose rating criteria are always going to be a bit wonky no matter what, so maybe it's not worth getting hung up on. After all, this is very clearly not porn post #337201 , but is still forced to be rating:e due to an anus.

Even so, there is still evidence of genitals to provide context, although they're covered up.
