As pics go, isn't scat porn with crap in it, not just crap itself?

i always thought it was just poo, more specifically in one's diaper or pants.

scat's a stupid name anyway. It reminds me of a kind of singing.

scat = poo
fæces = poo
shit = poo
dung = poo

Poo, by any other name smells as... poo-ey.

That's how I've always used it and seen it used. And you can have feces in an image without it being a scat image. I vote no for this.

I understand what the technical definition of scat is, but if that's not how it's being used here then we should strive to use it accurately in the purview of tagging practices on E6.

Yes, and yes!

Just as the urine and watersports tags are not identical, so the feces and scat tags should not be identical. An image with scat on it means that there is "scat-play" going on in the very image itself, and so does indeed probably have feces visible. But a character could conceivably just be taking a dump without any sort of fetish play going.

Guys, you're doing it totally wrong. If someone wants to blacklist "disgusting stuff", they enter "scat watersports cub". If someone wants to search for one of the weirdest feishes, they search for "scat", not "fæces" (especially not spelled this way). "Scat" is how scat porn is tagged on virtually any site with images. No one cares about scat music (I bet most people didn't even hear about this crap).

With watersports/peeing/urine it's sensible:
watersports = paraphilia
peeing = elimination of waste
urine = depiction of waste

Why does nobody complain that "watersports" is sports, not a fetish?

feces = depiction of waste

If you have blacklisted "scat", does it blacklist "fæces"? No, no it does not. This alias just broke every blacklist with scat in it, which is probably a lot of them. Granted, it fixes itself simply by going to the preferences page and saving it, but this is going to lead to some unpleasantly surprised users.

Thanks for the heads up. Blacklist updated as if anyone cares. This is why reading the forums is a good idea, even if users don't participate.

There were 2 tags that meant the same thing.
They needed to be merged into one.
Fæces was the more used tag, so I assumed it was the appropriate one to be left over.

If the other way around is better, that's fine too.
But removal of redundant tags is a positive result.

They are NOT the same thing. Scat = fetish; feces = poop. If someone is drawn pooping, it doesn't automatically become porn, does it? Otherwise you need to merge watersports+peeing+urine+whatever else is used.

Scat is another word for fæces.
More than 95% of the images tagged fæces were also tagged scat.
They were being used to mean the same thing.

Urine is the physical liquid.
Peeing is the act(a pool of urine on the ground wouldn't be tagged with the action).
Watersports is peeing on someone else, or yourself I suppose.

If scat was used as a tag of someone pooping on another character, then sure, it should have it's own tag.
It wasn't.
It was used as a synonym of fæces.

Then correct wrong people, don't make an incorrect tag. It got to the top of blacklists for people avoiding poop porn. People usually have poop seperate.

Reversing alias would be wrong, but leaving it as it is right now is wrong too. I suggest mass-tagging all "feces" pics with "scat" too, unless someone wants to do it properly by manually fixing more than 200 pics...

I'll help out. Still a bit confused on what we're fixing though...

When the alias was approved for scat -> feces, it removed scat from all the images that contained it. It needs to be re-applied to those images tagged with feces that also require the scat tag.

I'm happy about this reversal. I'm also very happy that I don't have time for a tagging project right now.
