Topic: Fairy Type is confirmed...

Posted under Off Topic

...And I'm LOVING IT! Finally something else is super effective against Dragon! Just imagine Tinker Bell beating the shit out of Bahamut. This is truly one of the happier days of my life.

Your thoughts? (If anyone here cares?)

Ignoring the idiots from the peanut gallery . . .

tis pretty neat, they haven't added a type since dark type. Should be interesting, I am all for depowering dragon ;p

Gardevior, Jigglypuff and Marrill are all confirmed to be getting the Fairy type added to them.
In addition to their original types.

Edit: They also announced a new "Pokemon Amie" feature.
It's an interactive mini-game thing that lets you pet your pokemon and such to make them happy.
Looks interesting.

I concur. Dragon has been too OP for too long. Finally their reign will be weakened if not disassembled completely!

Nope, new type is not superficial at all.

This really should be species, like "XXX is fairy pokemon", not type.

Updated by anonymous

They announced a new dragon type too.
Not sure if it will be the new near-legendary dragon or not.
It looks kinda like a bat.

As for the new fairy type being superficial, they're making them cute, sure.
But is it any less superficial that dark types all looking evil?
Or fire types all being red and fire-y looking?
Or all the fish being water types?

I'm more interested in the new smash bros and the zeldas then the pokemans.

As far as I know
Or fire types all being red and fire-y looking?

Fairy is not equivalent of cute. Unless it's idiot translation from Japanese. Almost all fire pokemon looks fire-y. Almost all water types looks like they're living in water. Almost all dark (evil in Japanese AFAIK) types looks dark/evil. And Jigglipuff, and Marill looks nothing like a fairy at all.
If it would be called "cute" type I would be just meh. But this is just stupid. And I don't like idea of forcing type to old pokemons even if it doesn't make sense. Not only they are making new pokemons shitty, but they're hurting old ones.

OMG I just realized something. This new form...
They're making Mewtwo the fairy type, don't they? D:

And if they want Gardevoir to be fairy then they should change its sex ratio to 100% male. :D

That has my attention too (MEGAMAN) but thread was discussin the pokemon news. I could nerd out about smash brothers if wanted :P

I actually am pretty happy Gardevoir gets a fairy subtype. I always used her and while ice beam was great for the over use of dragon, a STAB super effective makes me like her more :P

Possibly, they haven't yet confirmed what it's type is either way.

As for being cute, that's the typical modern view of fairies.
It's not the old school version of faeries, it's just a kids' modern view of things.

Edit: Oh hey, here's a pic of that new dragon type I was talking about earlier: post #338641
With a penis.

This in all of its allofthisness. More on the SSB than anything else, though. But first I need a WiiU or a 3DS… can I play it with a DSLite?

OMG guys. Wii U should have had these at launch, would have blown away at least microsoft <3

Megaman is gonna be my main, along with Bowser, Kirby, and Toon Link if he's there.

DSLite is pretty much obsoleted at this point.
They may still finish making some games for it that they already have started, but any new games that they start making are going to be 3DS.

GODDAMNIT NO

YEEEEEESSSSSSSS! My precious Clefable is now even MORE of a threat than it was before! Dragon types can kiss my ass!

Updated by anonymous

Wonder if it will be weak to or resistant to fighting.
That would completely screw with normal/fairy and psychic/fairy types.

Likely. When ever they throw in a counter type for an OP type (dark for psychic in gen 1) it is usally weak to the types that what it counters kick the ass of (dark being weak to fighting/bug).

So one assumes anyway

Eh, Salamence still learns brick break, so unless fairy is also resistant to fighting(possible, but I dunno) Clefable is going to get 1 or 2 shotted still.

...Of course there's Taunt...

Not on Salamence there isn't.
In fact the only dragons that do learn Taunt are the B/W ones.

And of course the D/P legendary dragons all learn aura sphere which kind of screw it over as well.

I honestly must be the only one who thought Dragon types are just slightly stronger pokemon. Don't mean to be a bitch if I am sounding like it but I can imagine Fairy will just take dragon's place so to speak. I mean I didn't even bother getting an Ice type for dragon battles. I just slapped Ice beam on a normal type. I imagine I will do the same thing for Fairy, unless it's weak against ghost... then I'm just gonna laugh. (recently took interest in ghost types)

I'm not a fan of many normal types.
There was a definite need for some sort of anti-dragon thing though, they dominate too much in tournaments.
Particularly the ones that are resistant ice or dragon for their second type.

Woo! They just updated the webpage with more new pokemon.
Talonflame which is the evolved Fletchling, announced earlier, it's fire/flying, and looks like a hawk.
2 new water types, clauncher and skrelp which look like a crayfish and a seadragon respectively, skrelp is also poison type.

I understand what you mean and honestly There are a lot of Normal types I couldn't care less for. Zangoose and Zigzagoon are the only ones I ever truly liked. Others I kinda just tolerate. And Yeah Dragon's really can be quite a handful especially when they can just learn fire moves. Oh but is it true that they are putting a Cubic Voltorb in the game as well? wasn't that an old meme?

I like Snorlax, Eevee(but not in it's normal form really), Blissey because it's good, Togekiss, Ditto for breeding, and Arceus since he's normal type without a plate. The rest of the normal types I could live without.
I guess I could include some of the normal/flying types too, but I usually think of them as flying types more than normal types, aside from Togekiss.

You can see all the verified pokemon on the official website.
So far the only 100% sure ones are the new starters, legendaries, sylveon, fletchling and it's evolution, gogoat, the panda one, helioptile, the flying/dragon bat thing, a moth/butterfly one, the 2 new water types, and the new mewtwo thing.
There are some that have been supposedly announced in magazines, but that's been faked before, so if it's not on the website I don't pay any attention to it.
Anything else is just conjecture and/or trolling.
No square voltorb that I've heard of.

Just found out that the new skylanders is coming out literally 1 day after pokemon X/Y.

Damn it game industry, space that crap out.

Side note, new pokemon announced:
Flabebe that fairy type with the flower.
Litleo a fire/normal type that looks like a fire lion.
Scatterbug and Spewpa the 1st and 2nd evolutions of the new bug type Vivillon which was announced earlier.

It was also announced that instead of 1 rival getting a pokedex and battling you throughout the game, you will have 4 friends that will be given pokedexes and show up to battle you throughout your journey.

I'm looking forward to this. Fuck the Pokéoriginalists who say otherwise. I'm a Poképrogresstionist.
