The site uses a cookie for processing your blacklist client-side. Try deleting your e621 cookies (or all cookies, or just the e621 blacklist cookie if you know how) so that the site recreates it, and see if your blacklist starts working for you properly after that.

Blacklist seems to be working fine on my end...

Make sure you have the tags you want to blacklist on separate lines

If you have

the blacklist is blocking images like post #364296 (has all the tags)

Try

Blacklist works pretty much like a normal search, but hiding the search terms (each line) instead of looking for them.

They *are* all on separate lines. I confirmed my blacklist was populated before I started this thread.

I haven't done that yet, but my blacklist is functioning now. Seems to be an anomaly on my end.

Deleting my cookies didn't work, either. (I tried that before posting here.)

EDIT) Zeon preempted my post here by a minute.

Clear your blacklist (don't just delete it, cut and paste in notepad), save changes and then paste everything back. Haven't tried it (my blacklist works fine, with a bit of delay) but it's worth a shot...

it's only busted on page 1 of the main index for me, works fine on page 2 onwards and in searches

I can vouch for this not working either. Both my_little_pony and my little pony without underscores fail to block anything yet images marked with MLP block no issues.

Yes, I see it broken for page one of posts. Works everywhere else.

Deleted cookies, nothing. This keeps happening off and on, and it's kind of tiring getting a faceful of my little porny constantly.

I can confirm what 'mehmeh' said, my blacklist is only broken on e621.net/post/index , the blacklist works for every other page I've tried.

Also, if it's any help, after hitting "save" on "edit account" my blacklist list appears in reverse order of the way i put it in.

E.g. I type in
female
penis
omg_ew_bewbies

and after hitting save, it displays
omg_ew_bewbies
penis
female

Also also, the blacklist seems to take a second longer to take effect lately...

I am having a similar issue. Logging out keeps my blacklist active, and clicking hidden categories no longer toggles them!

Also I can't get anonymous bug reporting to work.

Refreshing the blacklist (cut everything, save, paste everything, save, try again) didn't work and deleting the blacklist-cookies didn't work either.

This, although if you search for something, it will still show the pictures blacklisted and hide them a few moments later... that's my case at least.

And I think that I found the problem. Robinebra uploaded post without any tags (first when searching for tagcount:0) - same thing happened to me recently. And blacklist don't know how to handle lack of any tags.

Yes, it should be. That's probably why getting nothing in tags confuses the script.

I got the same when I tried to upload a post, but got a 500 error during upload. Pic got uploaded without any tags, and couldn't be accessed because of 500 error. It got fixed when I reuploaded the picture.

As for number of posts that tagcount:0 get, I think that this is similar to this.

post #369346 now have tags, and can be opened. Blacklist seems to be working for me now.

Now that I know the source of the problem, I can implement a fix next time there's a broken post. Just bump this topic next time it happens and if you know which post it is, mention it.

But seriously, the two most likely culprits are an incorrectly formatted blacklist or an accidentally disabled blacklist.

For the first, each tag or set of tags needs to be on a separate line. For example:

Gore
Vore

would block any results with either gore or vore or both. However if formatted like this:

Gore Vore

The only images blocked would be images that contained both tags at once.

The other likely cause is that as you're browsing (on PC at least) and there is a result in a search that is blacklisted, you can click on the blacklisted tag under the blacklist menu on the left side of the screen to disable it from blocking that tag. This lasts until you click on it again, reenabling the blocking. An easy way to check this is to search for a tag on your blacklist and see if any of the tags under the blacklist menu are crossed out. An enabled blacklist tag would look like this:

Blacklisted(75) (help)
gore

Whereas a disabled one would look like this:

Blacklisted(75) (help)
gore

Hope this helped. If it didn't, it might be a more obscure issue that would require further investigation.
