It's been submitted for a while now, but from what I understood there was a hiccup in the system and they were only recently able to complete it. I asked him on Tumblr why he was taking down his art and this was the response I got:

Me: So I see you performed a Takedown Request of your art on E621. Sad faec :<

Him: yes… they were posting my original art of morgun alongside all my old pony shit and that made me really uncomfortable.

And just. blegh.

Me: Well I mean, you can have them make posting your pony stuff DNP, or even just your newer stuff. Still sucks to see you lose some exposure, you know? And it may take a while for that takedown request to get processed, Char is stepping down as lead admin and they don't have a replacement right now, and he's the one who took care of all the takedown requests.

Him: How did you see the takedown request? And anyway, I really do not want the exposure for that art. I really do not. I would prefer no one knew I did it or found me through it. That’s honestly the last thing I want - I would be ok with my old art getting posted if it was only ever credited to sweatshirt. but people always have to say “oh he’s klaufir now, here go follow him” and then i get more bronies following me. I don’t particularly want to be popular in that crowd. I am sick of the whole community. I regret ever getting involved. I don’t know what even came over me. I feel gross, I feel stained by it. I feel like I’ll never truly be free of it and I worry constantly that it will hurt my career as an artist.

And I’m especially sick to death of seeing this bullshit: “ahh what a shame, he was such a good artist. :<”

Acting as if I stopped being a good artist because I stopped drawing ponies. That is disgusting, what a one-track way of thinking. Anyone who feels that way should not be following me. I have things to say with my art now and I’m doing a lot better in general than I ever was then. God that burns me up.

So yeah...basically, pone fans drove him to drink. Shame, I really like his style of art.

By artist request there's numerous artists with multiple tags with no affiliation with each other. I'm not going to mention any on this thread for obvious reasons, but if he wants his art separated with no association between his aliases, it's been done before and could probably be done again. That is, if he ever wants his art posted here again. It's always a shame to lose good art from e621, but sometimes it just has to happen.

It's weird when artists rage quit because they have fans, as if they're required to interact with the small number of idiots in their fanbase. If I could draw and didn't like my fans, i'd just ignore everything they did and keep posting art like a boss. It's not that difficult to not have a complete breakdown over art.

Was the art good enough that we should give a fuck about it being gone? Just curious if I should try to track down strays.

Most of it was decent enough, some were pretty good.
