Topic: penis_grab and holding_penis

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

holding_penis would imply, at least to me, that the penis is being held by the person it's attached to, while penis_grab would imply that it's being grabbed by someone other than the owner. I think they're both valid, they probably just need to be cleaned up a bit.

Alright, went through each tag and cleaned up the images therein.

-penis_grab was applied (or left on) those images that depicted someone grabbing the penis of someone other than themselves.

-holding_penis was applied (or left on) those images that depicted someone holding their own penis.

-Some images received both tags due to multiple characters performing both actions in the same image.

-Also created the holding_penis and penis_grab wikis to help further clarify the distinction.

-Attempted to alias cock_grab -> penis_grab to keep tag syntax consistent, but the dreaded Alias Creation Bug reared its ugly head and prevented it for the time-being.

It's been two months since corgi cleaned this up, and it's already almost as messy as it were back then. I can see at least hundred images that have been mistagged.

I might've even done so myself a couple of times, those tags are easy to mix up... Maybe too easy?

no.

Yeah, I think so. It's just a bit too specific as it is. Fairly pointless when this can't be tagged as either:

Good point.
And from what I can see, breast_grab doesn't differentiate whose breasts are getting grabbed. So it's unintuitive that penis_grab does. And doesn't handjob already kind of cover someone else's penis being grabbed?

...I'm starting to think that aliasing them is a good idea.

These tags serve the same purpose, holding_penis has less images but penis_grab seems to be mostly misused, so which one do we keep? I vote for holding_penis.

I think it's not the same.
Word "grabbing" is describing the rougher action than gentle holding.

Grab = "IN hand" = can't leave the hand.
(examples w/ breasts: post #235054 / post #364887 / post #369256)
(examples w/ penis: post #140225 / post #200923 / post #335819)

Hold = "ON hand" = can leave the hand.
(examples w/ breasts: post #318163 / post #358963 / post #393569)
(examples w/ penis: post #188891 / post #373299 / post #378605)

You're implying that we should separate breast_holding.

Also, my thesaurus says holding and grabbing are synonyms.

Just because a thesaurus links two words together doesn't mean they're identical in all contexts, or that there's no difference in connotation. My thesaurus lists "hot" and "cool" as synonyms.

Good point there.

A completely incompatible connotation has already been applied to both tags. So if you really want that IN hand/ON hand thing to be tagged, then you might as well start a new tag which makes the connotation obvious, like penis_fondling.

The only question now is if we continue fighting the uphill battle of maintaining the distinction between the passive handjob and passive penis masturbation tags
