Same character, translation error initially had her named as Aeris in Final Fantasy VII, since then though her name has been replaced by the more appropriate Aerith. Just in case anyone still uses the old spelling (like I do on occasion).

I just came to say that I like the name Aerith :3

And since it's just the same character with the name poorly translated, I'd say it's a yes.
But I'm no mod, so my comment can be ignored.
