Topic: hmm needs some help with a problem

Posted under Art Talk

I have never been able to make those uber perfect lines people use in their artwork When digitally inking. Back in the day sure I got it pretty well. But nowadays I have to take medication that causes me to shake uncontrollably.

Ive ask this before in ink bunny, FA, even so-furry (furry star), never really got an answer.
I have an old corel program, you can drag drop the lines after making them, tweak the shape, lenght, and size, even correct shaky hands but its more aimed at making buissness cards, t shifts, stuff like that..

After I get all my stuff sorted out I plan on kicking my drawings back ingot gear and starting with what apparently everyone wants, cell shading works. But cant cut that by hand.
I can draw a picture how I normally would but need a program I can transfer it yo for inking and coloring though I can do "coloring" in the. First too...

I asked around for you and got http://painttool-sai.en.softonic.com/ as a source. It's cheap, and has a Line Stabilizer. Alternatively, there is Vector Art.

Remember, when art starts feeling easy, you're doing it wrong. Always challenge yourself to try new things and we can't wait to see what you make!

paint tool sai is probably the most famous and widely used one I have ever heard of so I would use that if I didn't utterly suck at artings

SAI is popular and has a good stabilizer. I personally think Clip Studio Paint Pro (The program Manga Studio 5 is based on) is much better, and it happens to be on sale right now. Both SAI and Clip Studio have a vector line drawing feature which allows you to adjust and tweak the shape of lines after you've drawn them. The stabilizer and undoing/redoing is all you need in most cases though.

If you want to use Photoshop or another program without a stabilizer, check out LazyNezumi. It intercepts Windows mouse/tablet API calls to add a stabilizer to any program.

Hey Esme: do you have an FA or a skype? If you do, I wouldn't mind getting with you on a livestream and showing you what I know. Granted it is not much with me drawing for only 4.5 months now, but I do know a decent amount to help I think.

I do, however ive been drawing since I was 14 x3 its not so much not having skill its more of the medications I take have caused nerve damage, my hands shake like leaves in a heavy wind. Basicly (I'd have to find it to confirm?) I have corel draw which is a logo/corperate like art program that allows you to make clipart like stuff...including vectors. Ive never gotten the hang of it though...like I said its a corperate style prograam for making stuff like logos buisness cards tshirts ect. (When I find it I'll try it again) as for SAI I....uh....had a bootleggers version that was in chinesevl I got from a friend. It was great but couldn't understand the menus *Yay emote*. So many of the popular artists artwork has perfectly formed smooth line, which if I combined with my own style of either air brushing or paint/watercolor I'll have my own theme. See? Anyway I'll take note of any programs you guys recommend but keep in mind I spent pretty much every penny I had from Christmas on my asus....which is awsomesauce....

I understand that. i was talking about how to set up SAI to accommodate your style of drawing. I would be wiling to show you how to set up a heavy line stabilization to get a lot smoother lines. I am pretty shakey too. Not a bad thing for coloring due to the magic wand tool, but for lines it was horrible. After discovering SAI, I have used corel draw to sketch, SAI to do lineart, and CS5 to color and shade.
