Topic: Tag help

Probably doesn't matter but it'll still bother me. The picture

https://e621.net/post/show/105178/bucky_o-hare-cat-feline-female-jenny-lagomorph-lap

should have both the Char: tag of Bucky O'Hare (since it has the aformentioned bunny in it) and Copyright: tag of Bucky O'Hare (Like all the other pictures from that series) but when I add the tags

char:bucky_o'hare copyright:bucky_o'hare

it drops one of the two at random and keeps the other, won't set with both tags. Is there a way to force both tags onto it? O.o Thanks.

There's only one bucky_o'hare tag in the system, you can't have multiple tags of the same name, even if they're different types. Anytime anyone adds the tag char:bucky_o'hare to something, it changes the tag type to character across the entire site, and every time someone adds copyright:bucky_o'hare it changes the type to copyright.

The proper thing to do in situations where you need the same tag to be multiple types is to add the tag type in parentheses after one of them, like how we have sparrow for the species and sparrow_(artist) for the artist.

I took the liberty of creating the bucky_o'hare_(series) tag and adding it to that image. We can set it up with a tag implication so that all images tagged bucky_o'hare will automatically get the bucky_o'hare_(series) tag, same for all the other characters in that series.

EDIT: Oh whoops. Looks like Joex already added the bucky_o'hare_(character) tag. I guess doing it either way works, although putting the paraentheses on the series seems more popular than the character when the purpose is to separate a series from its titular character. It's the other way around when separating an artist from their fursona, oddly enough.

Sweet! Thanks. As both tags made sense, some might want to find it if they're looking for the Bucky O'Hare series and others might just want to see the green bunny only so they'd be looking for Bucky O'Hare the character. >.<

Thank you for fixing this and handling it before an admin even saw it; greatly appreciated
