TL;DR

Insidious. THAT shit was scary, especially when it is 11:30 at night and something keeps hitting your window. And I looked outside (nothing there). Then I here my trash can get knocked over. I was like, fuck Insidious, then I went out there shaking badly with a large kitchen knife.

That red demon that crawls on the wall with its fuckin arms backwards.... Oh fuck.

Seems like I need to go watch Silent Hill, and watch Pyramid Head molest some mannequins. That will get Insidous from my mind.

Zombieland's a comedy. It's horror in the same way Shaun of the Dead is horror.

I think the purge made me the most irritated a movie would possibly make me. It was like....I felt like that guy eating serial and pointing out obvious things and shouting "oh just open the bloody door and mow them down with gunfire when they are posing for a picture"

I can't remember the last time I was scared by a movie.
There are plenty of so-called horror movies that gross me out, but that's not the same thing as being scared. Maybe I'm desensitized.

I haven't seen The Purge though...and probably never will. Criticker gives me prediction of 23 (out of 100) for it, and its recommendations tend to be pretty accurate.

I don't watch horror movies nor do I play horror games, while I do enjoy being scared, I do not enjoy the Jump-scare-o-rama that 99% of the horror genre consists of today. I prefer my horror in the taste of suspense and actual buildup, not some shitty CG monster jumping out into frame for 90 minutes.

Resident Evil, I played it for 40 min and then lost all interest after I successfully predicted where every single monster came from.
I have no idea how that is supposed to be scary.

I rented The Purge to watch one night, it's not that bad. It's probably one of the most realistic "horror" movies that aren't completely over-exaggerated to be released recently. The events and plot of the movie could totally happen.
But that's just my opinion
