Topic: Proposed tag edit: 十はやみ -> hiuna_hayami

Posted under General

I suspect that for most international users, searching would be easier in romanji than in hiragana.

Those should always be aliased.
Because most uploaders don't know how to translate the names, plus in many cases the names are translated inaccurately. So the usual end result is that there's two separate tags for the same artist: one in Japanese and one (or several) in romanji.

Besides, the original name is pretty useful to have if you need to find more of the artists works on the net.

If it's accurate.
I'm not sure why 十 would be read as hiuna, but my Japanese is worse than my English, so... I don't know.

Edit: Nope. I checked the artists page, and it's supposed to be mogiki_hayami. (十(もぎき) はやみ)

The Gelbooru tag is wrong, then.

So are you okay with me aliasing this?

That would be perfect. Thanks.

Hmm. Lemme check..
Not wrong, but it seems that they're using the artists real name (日宇那 早巳), which is indeed Hiuna Hayumi. Whereas 十はやみ (mogiki_hayumi) is a nick that the artist uses.

I suppose both should be aliased, then.

By the way, here's an another alias, since I can't submit it because of that bug:
チろ -> chiro_(artist)

In general, translated names are a mess. For instance, I've seen several cases where the tagger's simply taken a random word from the image thinking that it's a signature...

You should make a small post that lists them so I can alias them

I'll put that on my to-do list.
I've seen up to four separate tags for some artists: Japanese, romanji, plus their Twitter and Pixiv account IDs (which are usually just random strings of letters and numbers). It's going to take a while to compile those.
