Were they all uploaded by the same person? Then it is often the uploader, if not he should at least be able to tell you where he found them.

These posts have never been tagged with an artist before, I thought it had to do with the artist not wanting to have their name on it...but maybe we don't know it...

Then it should be at least tagged with unknown_artist or anonymous_artist as most have no artist tag

That reminds me to ask for a feature where if the artist is left empty it either refuses to allow the post, or automatically tags it unknown_artist.

The only problem is with new uploaders and new artist tags being tagged as general tags (which is very common) and would make it impossible to find those posts where the artist tag is a one post entry that is a general tag

That's the reason we don't just mass edit each one to have unknown_artist if it has no artist tag what so ever

, including the one you linked to, originate from U18Chan. There is an unnamed person (sometimes referred to as Mr. Editor) who takes requests for edits. There are a few other editors who post in the same threads (plural because the edits are broken up into multiple threads).

I don't have a clue what the person's name is if he/she has ever mentioned it.

Then why don't we just use "Mr. Editor" as the artist? If that's what he calls himself on u18chan I think it should work here.
