Topic: Things in video games that frustrate you and just plain make you mad

Posted under Off Topic

Games where you have dedicated ranged classes or playstyles, and then they throw enemies at you constantly that move far faster than you can and attack faster than you ever can. See: The Pursuer, Dark Souls II. Various other similar enemies. Seriously, fuck Dark Souls II's fast enemies. -.-;

Updated by anonymous

Well, as long as this thread is getting necroed, I have one thing to add.

Fuck missiles.

Heat-seeking or radar guided, you are my enemy. No matter my angle or speed, 95% of the time it is incorrect.

And Battlefield 3? If one person on the other team bothers with MANPADS, the vast majority of the map is now forefeit from the sky. Most of the time they don't even shoot you down, but I know they know it's frustrating and they love that.

Knockoff games.
Shawniqua the porcupine.
Cario mart.
Earthsnake Tim.
(The ones bellow are real except the last one)
Flappy wings.
Floppy bird.YT?
Flippy bird.
Flying bird.
Farty bird.
Call of the duty.

Knock off consoles, including the XGAME 360, the PSIII by Fony, the WIWI, and many more.

1) Forced tutorials
2) Random ass constraints the game isn't designed for (e.g. sealth missions in a slasher)
3) Bad AI
4) Escort missions
5) Unforgiving fail constraints
6) Binds/stuns/freezing the P.C.
7) EA and Ubisoft (or when a company doesn't care for their audience)
8) Annoying characters
9) Minigames that are obviously stolen from other games and forced into this game's mechanics.
10) Heavily reliance on random number generators

I could go on, but seriously; I want my games to give me credit; I'm intelligent, I've played and finished the Myst series, I can bloody well bet I can work out how to bloody control an army. It's only like every other FUCKING RTS IN THE FUCKING WORLD.

Okay. So, I've noticed that in GTA V, even if you use cheats, autosave still works. It did in GTA IV, as well. So, why the fuck does it not work with active cheats in Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare? That is not the best game feature.

Every game would be better with nudity.

Every game.

this '^' humans need to share it, we shouldn't be afraid to bare it!
all ryming aside...
Skyrim, better with nude patch. even better, IMO, with the CBBE and t/BB mods, one adds a customizer program you run before you run the game the first time that allows you to make some really pornstar like character bodys for the player XD and the other allows for breast and butt physics.
secondlife, its ok an all and its great we can make nuddies...but thefucking skins and parts are too expensive, cant earn a steady income cuz its TOO much like real life, the in game employers expect you to be on the job on time every time unless your a dancer or XxX'er.... and no one pays for sex anymore when you can have some onelining noob blow you for free -Rolls eyes- im a fucking paraplayer, I can post such detailed shit youd think you was reading a book an all anyone wants is stuff that puts palcomix diolog to shame XD

Somebody modded all the horses in Skyrim to have visible genitalia. Let that sink in for a moment.

Nude and "sexy" mods for Skyrim and similar games is what makes me want to see the end of mankind.

Ehh. The more out-there mods, sure, but if you take a look at MXO's Skyrim Mods Reviews, you can see a lot of very nice armor models that are sexy as hell, without being slutty or anything- And you have to admit that the default models are generally pretty ugly. A lot of the mods really make the models much better looking; certainly, there are those creepy people that will do nude mods for fap material, but there are plenty of people that use them just to increase the quality of the model while they're playing normally.

I'd say Esme falls into the creepy player concept, though. :P

That's because your screen size wasn't big enough. They made those games with scalar text size so larger TVs could actually view it. Sneaky bastards.

Nope. I have a 27 incher that I use for TV and gaming, and the text is small, but legible for me, at this distance (foot or two). Roommate has something like a 48 incher, and I can read it from the other end of the room easily.

I don't even know the size of my TV. It's probably about 20 inches.

I'm sitting about 3 feet away when I play, so that's probably a deadly combination.

Killing all 200 unlocked the Annihilator helicopter on top of the MeTV building. Pretty fuckin' useless when there was a cheat for it and several fixed spawn points in the game.

I'm sure The Crew will be a fantastic game; I'm already in love with it; but since Eden Games Ivory Tower was responsible for TDU, I'd like to see them try the luxury lifestyle aspect again, but properly this time: no creepy lifeless dolls for avatars, make the rivals seem like people rather than placeholders, and use The Crew's driving mechanic. I'd hate to see Test Drive die due to a mismanaged fantastic concept.

I'd love to see a Test Drive game in the style of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit/Need for Speed Most Wanted/Need for Speed Rivals, just with more classic sports cars.

Please. I've invested over 300 hours into Disgaea and I'm still not even halfway done. 60 hours, pssh

Games that allow you to play levels out of order but don't change the difficulty curve. As in, Level 10 is much more difficult than Level 1, but you can still play Level 10 before you play Level 1. Why bother? idun geddat mayn

Fucking Clinger-Winger.

I was playing that on an emulator today, I couldn't even get past Turbo Tunnel because the (360) controller wasn't responsive enough. It made me want to tear out my hair.

Only 300 hours in Disgaea? I invested about that many hours in the first two weeks of Dark Souls II's release. >_>;; (Seriously I have at least 4K hours on Disgaea by now... Not the series, just the first game on its own. Whole series that I've been able to play (no PS3, sadpanda) probably has sucked out over 20K hours from me)

What sort of games allow you to play levels out of order like that that you don't have to jump through hoops to do so (and thus show your skill = that difficulty increase at least)?

Clinger-Winger, that was the name. Thanks for reminding me. As for emulating it on a 360 controller, I find I need to up my sensitivity for twitch gameplay like that. Give it a shot.

Eh, I was at my buddies house and I didn't really want to bother. After playing it on the NES from literally as long back as I can remember, it felt just wrong, although my NES and copy are getting a bit dilapidated. However, I'm sure everyone has/had games like that.

Still, the music in Battletoads was so kickass, the gameplay so rewarding and fluid, that I enjoyed and ended up playing it so much that I would sync events up to the soundtrack, especially in Turbo Tunnel, the 'make or break' level of the game (I think that's the only reason I can get past it now). I honestly had a much harder time with Heavy Shreddin'. THAT game is a remorseless son-of-a-bitch. Top Gun gave me a real tough time, too. I could never actually beat those games.

There are 336 hours in two weeks... *shudders*

Yall mothafuckas is too hardcore for me. I freaking love Disgaea, though. With a passion.

I was speaking specifically of a game I've been playing a lot of recently, Tomb Raider 3 (oh my good lord if you want to play a difficult game there's your answer, Dark Souls be damned), and there's three different areas of quite variable difficulty, all of which can be played in any order you choose. It doesn't help that the game gives you absolutely no help on what to do, ever. "What? You mean I was supposed to go to that dark tunnel? And not the one with the invisible blade traps?" And that's just one example. Speaking of blade traps, am I the only one who ever wondered why these ancient civilizations somehow created these advanced mechanisms for the sole purpose of ambushing people hundreds of years later? How'd they even get around all those traps? hhhhhhhh

I slept maybe 4 hours a day for awhile. Got to playthrough 15 or so- not just intensity 10, but playthrough 10, and that's with doing full clears of the game searching for hints and writing pages and correcting errors on the Wiki. :)

As for the traps: They usually had a hidden mechanism somewhere that stopped the traps, or an alternate path... Or they simply were never meant to actually get that close, so once the traps were activated they never went back in in the first place, to protect their deity's idol or whatnot.

They set the pressure plates to compensate for the additional Laura Croft boobie weight. They didn't have to worry.

Some games are better when they can hold your attention for a long time. I played Fallout 3 and New Vegas for over 400 hours including multiple replays (I really didn't get out much). The thing is, you can beat those games in about 5 hours if you know where to go. There's a difference between beating a game and competing everything in it but sometimes I just want to finish the dang story (looking at you, Final Fantasy).

Which Final Fantasy are you talking about? I can't think of any other than the MPs that can't be speed run. ran? You know what I mean.

Did anyone else hate that game's forced level grinding and very hard to follow story? I played that game for twenty hours and still had no idea why I was doing anything or where I was going. Not to mention 6 of those hours was spend fighting in the same place just so I wouldn't get my ass handed to me in the very next area.

There is only 2 things I hate about FF12: Number 1 is being stuck with Vaan in any town, and 2, the difficulty of getting the Wyrmhero Blade.

There wasn't any forced level grinding. It's more than possible to beat the game with a 122333 level breakdown. I don't see how the story was hard to follow at all, either- What about it was hard to follow for you?

Also do remember that you're not SUPPOSED to fight everything you can see- many areas are filled with tougher monsters where you're not supposed to go right away, for example, and many areas also have much much stronger enemies that are passive unless you attack them or otherwise aggro them, the T-Rex in the first area being one example, but the Elementals being the most obvious example.

Wyrmhero Blade was bullshit though, completely agreed. Same with the Tournesol. Far too much work for not enough reward.
