Topic: WTF, e621?

Posted under General

This image don't seem to work for me, I tried to correct the http thing from https but it automatically corrects itself rather then leave it changed.

https://e621.net/post/show?md5=c0ffc7a5181fe57d3bb5678aa742933f

Then after a while no other images load, this is starting to get really irritating.

I've tried to look at this image using, chrome, IE, and Firefox but so far nothing.

This is a known issue, we are working on it. I am going to lock the thread because we have all the information we can use. We will update when we get a fix that works.

Hey everyone. As of this morning, the issue should be fixed. I am unlocking the thread so people can post any new developments.

Before posting, if you do notice the issue, please try deleting your cache and cookies and/or using an incognito tab (Chrome) to see if the problem persists. If it does, respond! Thank you for your patience.

That resource is actually the ad on the page, not the image (check the developer console). If it was the image, then the direct link wouldn't use https:// protocol.

As for what is causing this problem, I don't know. It seems to be completely connection specific. Maybe the IP change wasn't as smooth as it should've been. I remember not being able to reach the site for about 3 hours. Then I had these problems with a few images not willing to show themselves. But now I seem to have no problems at all. So... Weird.

I just ran into that condition yesterday finally, and tried to rack it, with my own uploads, which never worked..
I think, to blame CloudFlare's caching\proxy functions, it's their fail, I suspect it being corrupted cache or somehow related to certificates.

No changes here, many images still refuse to load. Such as post #113222 and #115811. (Tried it in incognito, etc.)

i had this issue when looking up sabretoothedermine, some of the pics just wouldn't load.

So with this new information, we may have identified a separate issue with similar symptoms. We will begin tracking and trying new things to fix it.

This is why I didn't become a coder!

Yep. Same problem here. -_- seems to be random, so I don't think posting links will help, anyway.

Still have it too, sometimes.

Before, when this thread was locked, internet explorer was doing it 100% of the time. Firefox was working OK though, now internet explorer is working again (yay), but only for new images, anything past a certain age has this issue

Can you provide some examples?

The random image bug still happens to me, thought it was fixed in my case until I found post #421746 which does not load for me.

no, I cannot. It seems I was just wrong, its still happening to me on internet explorer but Much less frequently, I don't think it has anything to do with the age of the post

Updated by anonymous

Never used to happen to me, but recently, this has been about, oh, every 1 of 3 posts will show up as a broken file image in Chrome, or a wall of tag text on Firefox. Been happening for a few days, as I was absent for a good while. Trying to read comics in pooled posts are the worst. Every other page wont load, no matter what I do.

I run Windows 7 and use Google Chrome for a browser.

I'm still having trouble with this occasionally, on Google Chrome, but it's only something like one image out of hundred. For instance, post #324127.

The only difference seems to be that the browser gives a security warning on those pages: "Your connection to e621.net is encrypted with 128-bit encryption. However, this page includes other resources which are not secure." Here's a screenshot of the full message.

I also get this warning if I view the source:

The page at 'https://e621.net/post/show/324127' was loaded over HTTPS, but displayed insecure content from 'http://e621.net/post/md5redirect?id=680c893fb1dea153d1dd10503114e4ba': this content should also be loaded over HTTPS.

I haven't seen those warnings on any of the posts that work.
