Topic: Style vs Series?

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

There are some tags which are both used to denote style and series at the same time, which makes it much too vague. (case in point: #131889 is clearly FiM (and mlp for that matter) based on series, and #131844 is clearly FiM (and mlp for that matter) based on style.

Proposal: Split these sort of tags into _(style) and _(series).
Alternate proposal: Remove all tags denoting style, since style is not always a unique identifier anyway. (else we would have a nezumi_(style), doug_winger_(style), gideon_(style) and etc...)

links added because I'm lazy.

personally... I've mostly been avoiding posting pony fan characters unless they're THAT awesome...

But I BELIEVE that what *I* have done.. is .. well. the first picture clearly would get MLP and FIM tags. the second, I would only give the MLP tag to. because it is clearly a MLP styled image -- given away by the blocky feet.

is this right? no, not really.. but (a part of me argues that there are so many original MLP chracters that no one would notice) but I'm not sure adding another tag would help either. because then wouldn't all pictures like post #131870 need to have the friendship_is_magic tag, the my_little_pony tag, as well as the friendship_is_magic_style tag? that's a lot of basic tags for one simple image.

I think I would prefer making use of fan_character tags...

...but that still also leaves the problem of, well, post #131482 is clearly naruto characters ponyized.

but then post #131034 is both ponyized and a fan_character. sort of. I think. I don't know, that one kind of makes my brain hurt.

Anyway... it's messy and I dunno what the answer is D:
