not really just 2 programs are needed, one to download the youtube video and one to convert it. actually Any Video Converter can do both.

There's a pretty slick plugin for the first part for FF too: just adds a "Download" button to all Youtube pages, looks like a part of the site. Very handy at times.

This is my method:
youtube-dl -o video.flv 'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ey1i8w45sZw' && ffmpeg -i video.flv video.swf
Windows users can use WinFF, and something web-based like keepvid or a Firefox plugin.
