They frequently don't match up and or make no sense.

For example, I am damn sure there are more than 395 images tagged "penis" on the site, yet when I search for that tag I get the big list of subtags with "penis" at 395 and everything else below that number. Meanwhile the page numbers go all the way out to 1120, which, if there are only 395 images, would be impossible.

Another example: I was on an image artist-tagged with Katski (post #132893). The number next to the tag was 8 on that page. I click through to the tag page and am only shown 3 images, and the number next to the tag on the new page is also 3. I have no "hidden" menu on that page like I do elsewhere when things are tag-filtered, so I know it's not my blacklist.

What's going on here? These symptoms recur all the time, with nearly every tag in the DB. Are the numbers related to something which is not visually obvious, or are they just broken?

Also, what's with the number of 2-tag searches that cap out at 200? I know there's gotta be more than that for most of them (example: Internal+vaginal).

The tag numbers on the posts include deleted posts, the tag search numbers don't. Why this happens, I dunno... same for the capped tag numbers. Don't expect it to get fixed anytime soon.

Further Edit: That can't be wholly true. A search for "anal penetration" (as separate tags) shows that each only has 200 images. However, there are in fact 204 pages of images. And not just 204 pages, with the last 50 pages being empty, 204 full pages. That's over 6500 images with both "anal" and "penetration." If there were only 395 with the "penis" tag, that would be 13 pages of pics, and even though there aren't actually 1120 pages, there are a hell of a lot more than 13.

If I'm remembering this right, for some reason the numbers next to the tags are based on the number of images with those tags uploaded in the past few days.
