I don't get it. Why create this topic instead of just going and fixing them?

I can't nuke tags (so I couldn't do that part). I was not aware that in cases like this it's OK to just replace the tag with the correct one and let the misspelled tag automagically take care of itself -- if that's what actually happens.

Tags with zero entries automatically self-destruct, but their aliases or implications won't.
