I would say no in general, body-modification involves things like slitting the tongue, expanding the arms, changing skin colors, or in the case of the picture above, adding the zipper to the pouch thing. In most cases I'd say body-mod is an invalid tag as well.

I do feel it's unnecessary, but others might not. Though body modification does tend to imply (actually imply, not tag imply) more uncommon things like scarification, penis bifurcation and the like, technically any piercing, color change, addition, removal, burn, etc. of the body for personal or aesthetic reasons is body modification.

I dunno. I like the body_modification tag idea. if I were the blacklisting type, THAT would be one of the things i'd blacklist becauuse peircings in weird places wig me out a bit.

thing is, tatoos and pierced ears don't bother me. its' tail bases and heelbacks that are really weird to me.

I'd suggest all of the body modifications imply "body modification" regardless of severity (earrings and cock-piercings would both imply it). If anyone's singling out a specific subset of body modification, they can search for or blacklist that specific tag.

So in this case cock-piercing implies piercing implies body_modification. On the piercing wiki, it should contain all piercing types so someone looking to blacklist a specific piercing can find out what they should blacklist.

Far as I can see, "furry_bodymod" is just body modification. Fuck if I know who came up with that tag and put it on things, it just sounds stupid. Easy, safe alias. It was luck I even encountered it, it's only on about 30 images.

that said, It WOULD be nice if there was a tag for some of the more 'weird' piercings and mods. something that would HELP to prevent tail_piercing spade_piercing tail_base_piercing tail_ring. and a dozen other tags with 1 or two images, that could all be lumped together. Unusual_piercing?

I'm uncertain about this, though there is fortunately a way to sort it without ambiguity; the only problem is that unusual piercing is probably not the right descriptive term.

I'm thinking all the piercings that can only be conceivably be done on a non-human (aka tail, wing, horn, and other furry specific body parts) can conceivably have it's own category. Furry_piercing sounds odd/inadiquate though, and in this regard we CAN conceivably consider furry_body_modification to apply to only these sort of body modification.

Fascinating. I'd not thought of that. I'd prefer, for clarity, "furry_specific_body_modification," but that is as cumbersome as your buddy's couch with a fold-out mattress he just asked you to move down three flights of stairs. Hrm. This warrants some thought. I do agree that it would be good to have a tag for piercings that you can't do on a human...Damn. That's tough. Hrmm.....

well.. maybe something a little more vague? what about something like limb_piercing? that'd do tails and wings, and would also cover things like the (terrifying *cough*) behind-the-achilles tendon piercing I saw the other day in a drawing. most piercings tend to be on face, head, or genital areas, so 'limb' would cover pretty well.

so... I guess, looking back, this is already suggested but, a tag they can all imply would be awesome.

Reading this over, I'd have to say I like that thought. Do them by rough location types and then they all fall under piercing under body modification.

well, piercings in general make me squirm (particularly on real people), so I really don't want to be the one to go googling to figure out where exactly a frenulum is and if it counts as ear or genitals.

So.. if someone who doesn't mind seeing or reading about this sort of stuff, could they collect up a nice list for me, sorted by rough location?

Then ther'e probably also soem tag clean up to be done, but I'll see about that when I'm adding the implications and stuff.
