Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

In the process of viewing post #43797 and educating myself to the meaning of the term "megrodite", I went back and looked at other Furball images posted to e621 in the past, and found that there's some disagreement going on with the tagging of the gender of these creatures.

It appears that last November, user #2393 did a cleanup of kaisura images, dropping the herm tag from images depicting the megrodite gender type. Since then though, roughly 1/3 to 1/2 of the megrodite images have had the herm tag restored.

I was going to submit an implication for megrodite → herm, but thought I'd create a thread for review and consensus first.

I googled it and the first result was an e621 page

that means that this is a made up word
just leave herm because it's general enough

No, all that means is that Google's servers decided that this was the most relevant site that the word appears on.

Does it have a Penis? Yes
Does it have a Vagina? Yes
Does it have Breasts? Yes

Then it should have the herm tag.

The fact that it has two penises doesn't change that. That just means it should have the herm tag AND the multicock tag.

If you want to argue that Megrodite is the name of the species, that's one thing. But it doesn't matter what gender the character is for tagging, what matters is what genitalia they have.

that's what I said
that the word is made-up bullshit
if I typed in the word "physics" and the first site that linked was a furry porn site I would reject that, as well

The made-up word part isn't a problem. There are lots of accepted made up words for species... Sergal and Chakat to name two.

The problem here is that it is a made up word that is supposed to represent a gender that is nothing more than a multicock herm, and that people are trying to use the made up word instead of the correct tag. If it was a species tag, nobody would give a damn.

...

Actually, hell, why isn't it the species name? Does that animal have a species it's supposed to be? I've never seen a Megrodite drawn as a different species besides the one that furball draws. I reckon there are probably nearly 100 pictures of that animal species by now from assorted artists.

exactly! it's made-up bullshit
Not only is it made up, but it is ALSO
bullshit
as well
because it refers to things for which perfectly good non-completely-invented words already exist

but yeah

I don't think e621 has a species tag.

Wolf?
Tiger?
Lion?
Otter?
Dolphin?

And so on and so forth.

I meant like how there are different colors to denote characters or copyrights,

Actally according to Furball from a post submited. Megrodites are Greater-Hermaphrodites and that they could be any gender.

Jesus way to resurrect a dead thread? Tag what you see, not what you know. If you see a vag and boobs, tag female, if you see a dick and boobs, dick girl, dick boobs vag herm, dick male, cunt and no boobs Flatchested or cuntboy depending on body type. It's really not that complicated.

Right. So I jsut went through and I think I've tagged everythign that has multiple cocks with multicock, and everything with a tail cock with tail_cock. Any objections to removing megrodite as a tag? :D

None, unless we repurpose it to a species tag.
