and while i'm at it, implicate machine for fucking_machine (or w/e it/they is/are). Robot, mech, space_ship, etc etc etc. I found no implications for machine.
*edit ( typo)

this sounds reasonably fair...

Thanks Snow! I thought it might make a good addition.

hokay.
fucking_machine implies machine
robot implies machine
space_shuttle implies spacecraft
turret implies machine
turret_(portal implies robot
did not do mecha and mech though.. they seem like they should be merged, but mecha seems to have a lot of 'power armor' sorts of pictures and I'm nto sure machine would be arpproriate.
spacecraft likewise has a lot of 'interior shot' spaceships, and it didn't seem right to have machine on a picture of a dark hallway with a wolf morph jerking off. plus, some francises have living biomechanical specships.

Well, power armor are still machines, no? i do agree with the spacecraft point.

debateable.
post #141937 post #72668 post #72667 post #72665 didn't seem quite right to have machine on them... but this isn't my area of 'speciality'... so, bringing it up, letting people look.

First one seems a bit off because of the organic ass and balls, but otherwise qualifies for machine; They're based off the ZoE mechs, and the legs tapering to those points especially lend to machine. The next two are obviously machines, (but neither look like power armor, just a mecha and a Porygon Mewtwo design mechanized) and the last one looks like just a stylized haunter, or one wearing a mask, not a mecha or machine; There's just not enough visuals there to indicate more.

I didn't say they all looked like power armor, jsut that I looked through and not all of it seemed right to tag with machine. :)

"Turret" can also refer to a tower built into the walls of a fortress. So no.
Updated by anonymous
tag it tower, then.
Updated by anonymous
Turret LITERALLY translates to "little tower" when used to describe that particular piece of architecture. Just call it a tower.

first post is the only one I see that doesn't match the machine tag in my opinion.

well, if someone wants to run through and clean up the mehc and mecha tags so that they can be merched, and imply machine, then please do so :D
The most into 'mecha' I ever got was Gundam wing, and I was really more interested in the characters then the robots ;)

Ironic, no?

should machine be implicated to mechanical ?

yes

Out of curiosity, who implements the actual implications/aliases themselves.

Any admin can add or approve alias/implications, but it's usually me or SnowWolf.

Define: Machine
1. An apparatus using or applying mechanical power and having several parts, each with a definite function and together performing a particular task
So yes, a 'turret' in the weaponry sense is a machine. I suggest it also implicate 'weapon'.

ah yes, weapon. Good one! I guess machines can be wood too. Just look at Bender in Futurama when he got a downgrade to being wood.

well, a wooden machine is still a machine...

Tis' true, tis' true.

Added machine implied mechanical
I dunno about turret implying weapon, though. to me, a weapon is something you hold in your hands and use

A weapon is anything built to cause damage, death, or destruction.
Define: Weapon
weap·on /ˈwepən/ Noun
1. A thing designed or used for inflicting bodily harm or physical damage.
2. A means of gaining an advantage or defending oneself in a conflict or contest

that's true, but when someone looks for weapon, will they seek a sword or axe or gun? or will they be wanting a portable gun turret over there chillin' out going "Are you still there?"

If they want a turret, they can search weapon -sword -axe or whatever. If they don't want turrets they can search weapon -turret.
Updated by anonymous
If it is built with the purpose to harm others, 'tis a weapon. If they're looking for swords/axes/the like, they'll look for those instead.

A machine is just a compilation of two or more tools isn't it?

I go by the stock standard definition: "A device consisting of fixed and moving parts that modifies mechanical energy and transmits it in a more useful form."
