Topic: Picture posting policy question

For a site that is built around stealing and posting artists works without their permission, why does admin care if Sexyfur art is posted? Other paysites' (Fur After Dark, for instance) art is on here, so why is Sexyfur suddenly untouchable?

I'm not looking to post anything, it is just an observation.

Man, I'm not sure if this is trolling or not, but here goes.

As far as I'm aware the artist behind Sexyfur is real fast on his lawyer's speed dial. And it's not quite stealing, to use such a charged and offensive term, if you've bothered to look into e621 beyond a cursory glance you'd see that asking permission is required to post anything and that not doing so means there's going to be some pretty serious backlash against the poster.

Bernal has threatened us with legal action before, so we have no doubt he and his rabid fanbase are paying attention.

Same reason hardblush shit is banned, because Bernal has the tenacity and lawyers to actually retaliate against the site.

Pretty much any image board operates like this. That is, they only really remove their content until there is a sort of threat to their potential ability to keep up their CURRENT content. And mostly they just recycle existing stuff that is out there.

Granted, E621 has gotten more lenient than your typical image board fare about removal. However, it cannot be denied it was built up around this basic principal. And luckily, there's enough freely-distributed material to keep E621 popular enough to stay afloat. I'd chalk this up mostly to the factor of furry porn 'artists' being solo operatives whose half of their entire potential income is based solely on how many people within the fandom have already seen their stuff. They pretty much want their stuff distro'd to every corner of the furry network.

I would love to have him present his art in court lol :P

What? We're not supposed to post people's art without their permission. While there are users that don't ask first, E621 has a fairly straight forward take down policy that artists can easily follow should they object to their art being posted. Paysite content is also prohibited, unless it is over 2 years old.

ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT.
We are all about asking permission FIRST.
In fact if you go around saying you don't ask permission you'll end up being banned.
