Topic: Tags for female humans and male humans

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

E621 is a great site filled with shit. That's what the blacklist function is for; to filter out all of that crap.

I make full use of the blacklist so that I can enjoy E621 to the fullest, however it is very frustrating when there is something that I don't like that isn't tagged properly for me to blacklist it.

I've never been attracted to female humans, and it sucks that there is no tag for me to get rid of them. The problem is, I cannot just blacklist "human", because I like male humans in artwork.

There is a flood of all of this crap too, so my search for anything feral will be populated 85% by females getting screwed by the pooch.

I know this may be the other way around for some, which is why I think it would be nice to create a tag for female and male humans.

Obviously there are way too many posts for me to do it all by myself, and even if I did, I would constantly have to add the tag to new posts.

I'm wondering if anyone here could help out with tagging this, or if anyone has any ideas for the tag names.

You're aware there's a thing called the "Enter" key?

blacklist "female human"

the blacklist is actually designed to handle all these things

every line is a new blacklist query
so type something like the following

pie
apple sauce
gravy

and you'll get a blacklist that blacklists pie, apple sauce, and gravy, but doesn't blacklist apple butter or apple juice.

Yeah, it only filters out posts that match all tags on a single line. Therefore if you blacklist 'human female' it only blacklists images with BOTH the 'human' tag AND the 'female' tag, but not posts with only 'female', or only 'human'.

If you DID want to filter out any post that contains either females OR humans (or female humans), just put each tag on its own line.

If I'm reading this right, I think his problem is that "human female" on one line will block posts that contain both a non-human female and a human male. To solve it you would need "female_human" and "male_human" tags.

But even if these tags were approved someone would have to sort through over 100,000 posts.

You got it smack on. I said in my post that I know how the blacklist works.

I would understand that it would take a long time, but I didn't know tags had to be approved.

How do you get a tag approved? Couldn't it be a bunch of people sorting through it instead of just one?

first off you'd need to ask to have gender based species tags approved agian. We have a long line of declining things like tigress and dragoness and joey and other things like that.. but I don't do that part.

Sorry trfg, the blacklist doesn't work that way. As Aurali and tony have described, the blacklist filters out images that contain all tags on any single line. It will not filter partial matches.

To use the above examples, a blacklist containing the line "female human" will filter out all images that are tagged both "female" and "human".

You can also use the "-" operator to filter out images that do not contain a tag. For instance, I have a line in my blacklist that is simply "-female". It causes the blacklist to filter out all images that do not contain the tag "female".

Putting these two ideas together, you can create very specific filters. Here's another example from my own blacklist:
gatomon -renamon -krystal -corruption_of_champions

This filters out all properly-tagged images of Gatomon, except those which are also tagged either renamon, krystal, or corruption_of_champions (in case someone ever does fanart of Gatomon and Marble, I guess?).

The blacklist system is very powerful and works very well once you learn how to use it. I'm pretty finicky about what I like to see here, so my own blacklist is rather extensive and specific.

Oh man! I've been doing my best to set something like that up. Filtering herm solo and male solo... never realizing -female would do everything I needed! Thank you so much.

My point was that it would block posts like post #166819 that contain both a "human male" and a "non-human female", which is not what OP wants. But he can't get the tags he wants because it is 1) against the policy, 2) a lot of work.

Oops, my bad. Well, at least one person found my rambling useful. :)

Agrees with OP so freakin much. I'm getting tired of seeing anime chicks getting screwd by dogs when I search human.
There should be something like what the herpy site does. Use man for male humans and woman for female humans. To bad it seems like that won't be implemented anytime soon.

Request it!

My solution to the problem would be to "just deal with it", but I've seen how real-life sense is handled on the internet :V

Well, how would we request it?

Well, if there's a way to make E621 better, should anyone have any objections? If they say no to gender tags for humans, then I'll leave it at that and deal with it.
