Because tarot already implicates tarot_card and the two encompass pretty much the same images with there being only one image tagged tarot_card that's not tagged with tarot too.

Tarot applies to the -character- Tarot from the webcomic Housepets.
I can kinda see it happening, but we'd have to also alias Tarot to Tarot_(housepets) or Tarot_(character) first.

Look at the results. They all feature tarot cards, and I don't see any featuring the character Tarot from housepets. So why would we do that?

Ah, it must've changed. I was saying it from memory. I guess that the OP's alias is fine by me, then.

I thought tarot referred to tarot_(housepets!) not that long ago, maybe someone went and aliased it. Probably for the best.

My logic behind not asking for this implication in a different thread was that tarot was something you did with tarot cards and tarot cards were something you did tarot with. So tarot would imply tarot cards because you need the cards to do tarot with, but tarot cards do not necessarily imply tarot if they're just being displayed. Apparently, the tagging hasn't been consistent with what I'd originally intended.
In any case, I'd rather this wasn't an alias but an implication so that I can separate the tarot cards themselves from the tarot users posing in semi-mysterious ways in a search.

If tarot implicates tarot_card (which we already have),and tarot_card implicates tarot (which you seem to be supporting here), then one of these tags should be aliased to the other. There's no reason to have two tags set up so that they always appear as a pair.
That said, I think we'd be better off with a tagging project to remove tarot from images that contain nothing but tarot_cards than with an alias.

Actually, no. I support the present situation, but not fanatically so if everyone else things I'm full of hot air.

This is what I've been wanting to do for a while, but dithered because I didn't want to be yelled at. I've just removed tarot and fortune_telling from the pictures that are just displayed tarot_cards.
