Topic: Fix tags here

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

I was eliminating/combining tags recently and I ran into some I didn't know what to do with and left them alone:

hairslide vs hair-slide ?
bear-paws vs bearpaws ?
porygon-z vs porygon_z ?
spinoff vs spin-off ?
lei-lei ?
ak-74 ? [typo or real?]
non-consent ? [rape instead]
f*f*t*2
kama* [kama citra vs sutra?]
post*it* vs sticky*notes [which one should win out]
science_fiction auto applied vs sci-fi [kept coming back]
cock*tail vs the drink [they are mixed up]
fire_hose -> firehose
eyeless vs no_eyes [i guess the first is having them gouged out, second is none to start]

Feel free to look at them or post others.

hairslide vs hair-slide

There's only a single image for each tag, and I have no idea what it's supposed to mean to begin with. I removed them both.

bear-paws vs bearpaws

Again, one image for each tag. Neither of them contain bears, and they feature hands/claws rather than paws. I'd say remove them, but I want to make sure they're not the name of a character or artist. Until then I've edited the latter into the former to make them easier to locate simultaneously.

porygon-z vs porygon_z

Alias it to the former spelling; it's more common.

spinoff vs spin-off

Alias. It doesn't really matter which, but I'd prefer to spin-off.

lei-lei

Alias to hsien_ko. I'm not sure what the relationship between the two names is, but in outside sources hsien_ko is typically listed before lei-lei, with the latter being some kind of alternative.

ak-74 ? [typo or real?]

Do not change. The AK-74 is an actual weapon, distinct from the AK-47.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-74

non-consent ? [rape instead]

A rather vague tag. Also, none of the posts with that tag explicitly depict sex; they all just depict gore (with one implying sex). I'm going to edit them out and the mods can create an alias from non-consent to rape if they want.

f*f*t*2

Most of them refer to specific games, so keep them. But ffta2 is an unnecessary abbreviation of final_fantasy_tactics_advance_2.

kama* [kama citra vs sutra?]

Kama_citra (and kama_citras) refers to a specific work by Adam Wan parodying the actual Kama Sutra. It is distinct from the original, but the tag only applies to a single image, so I'm guessing it's unnecessary. If anything, the posts under those tags can be pooled.

Everything else under kama* is fine.

post*it* vs sticky*notes

I say alias the former to sticky_note. Only because Post-It is a brand name and we're trying to refer to them in general.

science_fiction auto applied vs sci-fi

The latter has more posts, so alias science_fiction to it.

cock*tail vs the drink [they are mixed up]

The primary usage of cocktail is as a mixed alcoholic beverage. Secondary usage is to describe any other mixed substance. There is a fruit called a cocktail, but it is a genetic mixture of two fruits (so in essence, it fits under the second definition).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocktail_%28disambiguation%29

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cocktail

Cocktail should be used to refer to alcoholic drink mixes, and any other cocktail will have to have some kind of qualifier: juice_cocktail, molotov_cocktail, cocktail_(fruit) etc.

Tails that are also penises should be tagged tail_cock. It makes it a little more distinct and better connotes the arrangement i.e. a tail that is also a cock, as opposed to a cock that has a tail. The latter would simply receive the separate tags penis and tail.

fire_hose -> firehose

Same as before, one image for each tag. I edited the latter into fire_hose.

eyeless vs no_eyes [i guess the first is having them gouged out, second is none to start]

That distinction might work. But eye_gouge might be less confusing to describe eyes that are actively being damaged/removed, while missing_eye could refer to eyes that have already been removed. I say alias no_eyes to eyeless to refer to creatures that inherently have no eyes, and use the two tags I outlined for the situations described.

Here's another one:

Alias: fireman -> firefighter
-For gender neutrality

FFTA2 should be aliased to final-fantasy_Tactics_advance_2 because it's a lot easier to type "FFTA2" and have it autocorrect it via aliasing than to type out the whole thing each time. x_x;

Personally I think Science_fiction should eb the tag is it's, quite simply, the more proper tag visually. We may say sci-fi, certainly, but it's always with the understanding that it's a shortform for science fiction.

Everything else I agree with.

It seems to be a character (the stripey iksar).

You're right. I found his FA page.

Editing tag.

ROUND 2

grey_and_white (there seems to be a lot of terms meaning greyscale ... oh wait black_and_white has 12x more. maybe alias greyscale's 750 to black_and_white's 10106 ? edit: monochrome)
ponytails (correct term for multiple?)
*bump_in_the_night
dschinghis_khan ???
multiple_balls
char*sheet vs profile vs model_sheet
easteu (need to watch more mlp because i dunno whats misspelled?)
green_eye (see one, tag singular?)
sucking_breasts
alluringming
mixed_breeding
tail_fluff
bigcock
questionable_sexuality
self-strip
punch*out*
drool_string (a lot more pics could probably use this tag)
pick one: life_saver lifesaver flotation_device life-preserver inner_tube
multiple_genders
undetailed_background -> simple_background ?
ineffective_censorship vs pointless_censoring vs useless_censoring ( search: *censor* )

Updated by anonymous

AFAIK, ponytail is both singular and plural. Like moose.

Dschinghis_khan is the guy who did the Moscow song.

Multiple-balls is for multiple sets of balls on a single character (yes, they exist)

Thinking model-sheet should probably be used.

Dunno.

Already fixed?

sucking_breasts > Breast_feeding (fixed)

alluringming was two tags squished together, alluring and ming (character tag). Fixed.

Dunno, looks pointless.

tail_fluff is talking about a tail that has a bit of fluff on the end. not sure (and not checking 5+ pages atm) what would be appropriate replacement.

bigcock would either fit under hyper_penis (if large enough) or just penis.
questionable_sexuality is removed. If someone wants to add something in its place that more appropriately fits, be my guest.

self-strip is replaced by undressing (fixed)

dunno what that punch*out* one is.

multiple_genders is fixed already.

Dunno on background.

ineffective_censorship is when there's like, just the teeniest line so it's TECHNICALLY censored, but it doesn't really block anything. Pointless_censoring was for when it was censored (more than ineffective) but you could still see pretty much everything, so you shouldn't have ruined the image with the censor. useless_censoring fits under ineffective_censorship, I believe.

TL:DR; ineffective = barely blocks, doesn't detract from image. Pointless = blocks, detracts from image. That's what I've always known them to be.

Since pigtails and ponytails are different things, I think pigtails should alias to pigtail, and ponytails alias to ponytail, to fit in with the singular "horn" tag.

Speaking of multiple_??? tags, how about we change multi_breast to multiple_breasts (because it sounds better, in my opinion), multi_cock to multiple_penises (we don't use a cock tag, we use penis), and so on for the rest of the multi_thing tags?

I prefer character_sheet. the profile tag seems to be mostly used for actual profile images, which is an image of the side of something.

mixed_breeding was only on one image, I replaced it with interspecies.

tail_fluff was only on one image, replaced with tail_tuft, the proper tag.

bigcock was only on two images, I removed them.

How about aliasing punch_out and punch-out to punch-out!!, which is the proper spelling?

Innertube and life preservers are different, life preservers are small and orange and used to save people who can't swim, whereas innertubes are generally big and playful and used for fun. And then there are two kinds of life preservers, jackets and rings.

I fixed some of multi* but there is a lot of it.

I'll reiterate that the whole spectrum of greyscale tags is pretty confusing. Specially without sleep.

Should something like post #156637 be considered:
brown_background
detailed_background
(or no tag indicating background, since it is photorealism)

ROUND 3

chest* (fluffs, tuffs, ruffs, puff, tift, etc. what does it all mean?)
multicolored_hair (82) -> multi-colored_hair (306) Added.
rainbow_dash (14) -> rainbow_dash_(mlp) (1617) Added.
applejack (7) -> applejack_(mlp) (931) Added.

fluttershy (7) -> fluttershy_(mlp) (1250) Added.
public_hair (13) -> pubic_hair (1641) Denied. Edit them out instead.
lanx (misspelled?) Not misspelled. Character species.

Holy Jesus I didn't know post searches could have wildcards.

-Edited by Riversyde.-

First five aliases I agree with, second last is more a misspelling (edit them out) and Lanx is the species of the critter you see there.

Still a few undecided-upon aliases/implications. I would have crossed them out before I bumped this, but yeah.
The advertisement and navel ones from Round 4 have been approved already. Dunno about anything else.
Well, have fun!
