Apparently that's how Australia, New Zealand, and the UK thinks it should be spelled. Fixing.

The site probably gets most of its traffic from the U.S., which I think is more important to these kinds of conventions than where the servers are hosted.
I think it would have been funny to leave the tag as it was just to see how many people would lack the cultural awareness to realize "pyjamas" was a valid spelling of the word. Like "colour" versus "color" or "theatre" versus "theater".

I knew about the latter two.
I had no idea "pyjamas" was a real word until this thread.
My browser is even labeling it as a misspelling as I type this post.
Running the word through Google yields a Python script as the first two results. The Wikipedia entry for pajamas is third, and it lists the alternate spelling.

Lots of language options for an "American" site. Everyone knows that Wikipedia is an attempt by the United Nations to turn everyone to their own wicked brand of liberal thinking. I, for one, will have no part of it.

Why don't we fix this in a more annoying manor. Why not get the mods/admins to add pajamas as a tag and have them add it to every post with pyjamas tag. It would be simple and easy for the average person to do. Sit back and watch someone else do it. Just saying.

I actually concur. Just for the humor of the fallout over http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_(colour), or Linux_kernel vs. Linux (the name where Linux_kernel should be... And all of the other stuff documented by Wikipedia:Lamest edit wars including my favorite, The Great Cat Owner v. Caregiver Debate of 2006 (Am I going off-topic here? (Recursive parenthesis ftw))).
As for theater, theatre and theater are both correct spellings for slightly different types of theaters. Usually you see musical or Greek theatre, and movie theater.
