I thought seapony and its variants referred to a particular type of My Little Pony. I'd argue that seapony and its variants should imply hippocampus rather than be aliased or implied to seahorse. Seahorses are a type of fish that only superficially look like horses, whereas hippocampi are pretty much what the seaponies are: horses with fish-like features.

I argue this. a Hippocampus is a very specific mythological creature.
some of the sea_pony images we have now are hippocampuses. but ones like the second image depicted above are.. well.. seaponies. Shoo-be-doo. they;'re honestly closest to seahorses then anything. they're kind of a unique species though.
I think some of the hippocampus like seaponies need to be retagged, but I dont' think that seaponies as a rule should be hippocampuses, or seahorses.
