Topic: FA SOURCE LINKS

Posted under General

umm... yeah, they do. they don't give the entire details, but if you copy/paste the link instead of clicking it.. you won't get the forbidden message.

Though, yeah, better to give the address instead of just the picture. more information that way :)

I have to use the d.facdn method though cause that's the only way the source shows up for me.

Personally I'd rather see a link to the persons userpage instead of the image. Linking to the image page works just as well I suppose.

Sometimes if I see direct links to the file I'll change them and bitch at you.

Ok, people, can everyone link to the page with the post instead of the file in the server?

http://d.facdn.net/art/dirtiran/1226941648.dirtiran_onheights.jpg <--These don't work.

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1720560/ <--THESE WORK.

Thank you, I hope some of you start (and keep) doing this the correct way.

I've been doing that too....and fixing the ones that are broken. I prefer to post the link to the posted image, and not the artist's gallery. Because if they have a lot of art, like Tani Da Real or Kacey, for example, and you want to find more info about the picture that was posted, you would have to scroll through 50 something pages of pictures until you find it (if it's an older image)....

I would like to do that as well, but that would mean copy/pasting the link from the browser on every single image I upload, which is a lot more time consuming than letting my uploader do it automatically, but the best it can do is the gallery for the artist since there's no way to figure out the submission page's URL from the URL to the image itself (the image URL DOES have the artist name in it, and it's pretty simple to grab it and spit out a gallery URL).

In the source field put in FurAffinity:(artist). That would make it easier, I think.

No, because then people would have to type out the URL themselves, instead of a handy clickable link.

Just update the artist's wiki with their URL(s), then people just have to click twice to access the website.
