Sometimes I feel there should be more discussion of tags on the forums. There's no shortage of tags people are confused about, certainly...

Anyways, I agree with this idea of giving Fluttershy and Futashy separate character tags, but I'm not a mod. It isn't my call and I don't intend to argue about it.

Futashy and Fluttershy are the same character, just different genders. We don't have a different tag for Krystal or Renamon just because they have a dick.

no, but they are not called something different either. With futashy being a continuous character seen on e621, it should have it's own tag.

Also fluttershy implies female, where futashy is not. with these two names pertaining to two different characters, I would imagine that two name tags would be in order.

Is the situation the same for Miles Prower & Tailsko?

I know miles, I am guessing Tailsko is the female version of Tails.
If you think there is enough female miles to need its own tag, then advocate for it.

That's all I am here to say, I have just noticed so much 'futashy' artwork lately that I think it needs its own tag.

No such implication exists.

Not a literal implication. It's more that there's a drive to gendertag everything, and so characters get tagged with their 'expected' gender in the absence of other evidence. The expected gender of Fluttershy is female. The expected gender of Futashy is not.

There's an Ask Futashy blog which is partly responsible for the confusion. Futashy from the Ask Futashy blog is a very different character from Fluttershy of the show, in spite of their generally identical appearance.

If we allowed fan characters like futashy to be tagged then we'd have to allow names like trollestia and molestia, and that just causes problems.

Giving names to male/female counterparts of the same character is stupid. They should be tagged the same, and with the corrosponding gender tag, as they are the SAME character, just a differing gender.

Fantastic. So futashy is a "fluttershy" and "male" tag, and fluttershy is a "fluttershy" and "female" tag. Got it and I will start tagging again. Of corse unless both genders show....

Futashy is either a dickgirl or a herm, depending on what bits are showing.

But if only one gender is showing, doesn't TWYS mean that you. would tag to the gender seen, of course unless secondary gender characteristics (ie facial hair or breasts) are showing?

No. Are you going to go around tagging ALL the mlp pics male just because they don't have tits and you can't see that they have vaginas?

Only if there is a penis. If the gender is ambiguous then just follo9w it through with the 'standard' gender that the image is known by.

Isn't that what you are supposed to do with TWYS? Penis = male, vagina = femalen multiple = herm, .... etc. ?

I keep asking about TWYS and yet it still gets confusing aparently.
