Technically I'm still ordained as I didn't make a big stink when I left the Methodist Church. After leaving the ministry, I ended up briefly becoming a member of a fairly liberal Presbyterian church with damn near a 100% GBLT congregation, but ended up abandoning Christianity entirely cause I grew sick of the bullshit and trying to force myself to believe in something that I didn't. To believe in something that was wrong and contradictory on so many levels. To believe in god is to believe in falsehoods.

If you are honest with yourself, then the more you read and study the Bible, the harder it is to believe in it. There's a reason that the standard preaching practice is to pick a single verse out of the Bible, out of context, and preach on it for half an hour. And that's to keep people from reading and thinking too much into the Bible and realizing it's all bullshit.

I have always valued being honest with myself, and my study in the ministry forced me to face the fact that God did not exist. I could not continue to lie to people and preach falsehoods.

sounds like you had some bad practices/bad congregation. the more i study teh bible, the more i see how true it is, and that plus some personal experiences, i have to say god's existence is undeniable. I myself left my congregation because they were a bunch of pretentious snobs, but i'm no one to judge, so i just left rather than put up with them. although i'm a bit hard pressed to believe that you were actually a minister, since you didn't know one of the most basic rules of god.
