As a result, welcome to shark week, which will in all likelihood last much longer than a week, in which I am perusing the comments section, and if I find you to be a particularly shitty poster, you will be given a 1 month ban, minimum.

I trust those of you horrible posters so affected will then take the time to either reflect on what has happened, and either stop looking at pictures that personally offend you for the sole purpose of having a whiny shitfit about them, or instead move on to greener pastures because you obviously can't handle the art here.

Shark week comes and goes. It's like a bad rash that way.

Your account hasn't been changed in any way, nor has the comments page. Try clearing your cache or refreshing the page? Shouldn't be doing that.

I think it only happens to posts with a large amount of comments, post #34383 is the first one I noticed it on.

Most of the comments are fine. I have no problem with the vast majority of them, and the fact that most of our users actually bother to speak coherent English delights me to no end. However, occasionally we seem to get waves of people who have nothing better to do than insult our userbase, spew profanity-laden acidic comments, troll users/start drama, spam post a bunch of memes, clog up our deletion queue with a billion 'this is not furry!!!111one' cries, and post floods of 30+ images with a single tag for each.

Wasting our time with useless garbage and bringing pointless drama and petty vendettas from other sites brings the entire site down, and so at times a culling is in order.

I'd have to say that culling is in order almost constantly. A few of my recent posts have picked up so many trolls and unnecessary commentary that I wish I was a moderator myself so I could go around and clean up their posts.

Maybe a report function or a blacklist for comments would help get things in line a bit.
