...like short_pink_hair.
Wouldn't it be better if they were broken into their basic components?
I mean it's probably not very reasonable to have a composite tag for every possible combination.

so 3 seperate tags of short, pink, and hair? wouldn't work out as well

Personally, I like the idea. Since you can only tagsearch 4 tags without a special account, I think it'd be pretty handy.
But there'd have to be a specific order in which you do the length and color, so as to avoid any tag confusion. Might be good to do a wiki article for Composite tags, so that people can know to put "short_pink_hair" instead of "pink_short_hair"(Doesn't sound right, I know, but would you honestly be surprised if somebody DID upload the tag like that?)

No, that wouldn't work. However, there is an unambiguous way to use simpler tags. For example: short_pink_hair -> short_hair pink_hair (and really, anything tagged with short_pink_hair should already have those tags).
Unless it's killing the server, I don't think there's any reason to get rid of composite tags, but they should always be used along with their components.

Using short_hair + pink_hair would be the proper way to do it.

There can be a character with a short hair and another one with pink hair in same pictrue, so I think it kills the point of short_pink_hair

Here's a helpful tidbit.... the thumbnail. If you don't see short pink hair when you search "short_hair" and "pink_hair", you keep scrolling pages.

Here's a tidbit of the truth... it doesn't matter, if what Jazz said happens to apply to 37 out 43 posts. :| (And no, I am not defining that as the case with "short hair/pink hair".)

I'm not fan of any point, and I'm not yelling on temporal_crux, but I think short_pink_hair stuff itself has right to live

... I haven't seen this actually stated anywhere, thus why I'm asking for admin confirmation / denial, but...
If composite tags for hair (which is relatively limited in variance) are disapproved of, then wouldn't it be extra so for composite sex/species or species/species hybrid tags? Mare, vixen, foxcat, dracat, and the like seem rather silly...
... It especially bugs me for the hybrid species ones, where you're usually only going to end up having one character per tag (due to odds as well as portmanteau spelling differences) anyways...
<b>[EDIT]</b>
Not a composite tag, but what about unique species tags? As in, if a character is of a unique species made up specifically for that character by their designer, and there is no indication that that species will ever be used for other characters by the creator or other people... Should such a tag be used?
For rational search purposes it doesn't make much sense, given people are more likely to recognize/remember the character's name than their unique species, not to mention that from a tagging perspective it's a 100% overlap between the character tag and the species tag, meaning only one tag would be needed. At most perhaps an alias would be appropriate for the off chance of someone remembering the species but not the name.
On the other hand, if the character has art depicting them, then inevitably somebody will probably copy their species, whether as a plain ripoff or to make a matched set or for whatever reason... Which makes the 'no indication it will ever be used again' thing sort of moot...

i love how we managed to overcomplicated fapping

Yeah, sorry about that. I guess everybody should've just had one orientation and set of tastes, and only posted that. Then we wouldn't need tags.

either this is deja vu, or i remember someone really making that argument before and horribly loosing before already
