Topic: Posts pending moderator approval are unable to be flagged for deletion

Posted under General

I just want to let everyone know this as I've been seeing many instances where people have been flagging unapproved posts, and I would just like to let everyone know that if a post has not been approved by a moderator, it is unable to be flagged for deletion. If you want to report an unapproved post that can be proved as a repost, make an entry in forum #2472 or just wait until the post gets approved, then flag it for deletion.

Thanks for the head's up. I've just been leaving a note in the comments up till now; I'll make sure to use the forum post instead from now on.

Out of curiosity, why is it like that? Coding restrictions or something? I'm clueless as to the 'under the hood' workings of a website.

Posts flagged for approval and posts flagged for deletion end up in the same queue for moderator review, so if you try and flag it for deletion, the database goes 'oh, this post is already flagged, I'll ignore that'. It's just the way it is, unfortunately. Might get fixed eventually but it's lower priority compared to some other fixes and upgrades Arc's working on.
