Hi,
I don't know how taking an artists work off the site works at the moment but as far as I can see the posts just get deleted as a whole. What if, instead, the submission would be kept intact, except for the image itself so you can still see it in your favorites or find them via tags. Obviously this only really makes sense when there is a source link.

This is already how it works, it's just that deleted posts are hidden on regular searches, favorites, and the main post list. You have to add status:deleted to your search, and then it'll show those (sans image) instead.
