Scary could.... doesn't but COULD ... mean a picture where the theme is fear. Just like happy, sad, cute and others...

That said, not all of scary is scary and most of it not even remotely nightmare fuel.

Personally, I'd just go through and remove 'scary' or change it as needed... there are only 40 or so images under scary.

It's pretty self explanatory, IMHO. If you were looking for horrible things you may not think to type 'nightmare fuel' in but if you hang out here at all, you'll see the tag on something and go "oh, nightmare fuel."

Yeah, that's pretty much how I came to learn the term. I came across an image that provided me a "WTF?! Oh my sweet Jesus..." moment. The first thing I did was look at the tags to try to decipher what I was looking at: nightmare_fuel. I can point out allot of tags and fetishes that I didn't know existed, and would have never thought to search under, until I encountered them here on a random picture.

Personally, I love it. It sums up the sheer bizarreness the images under the tag are, and when I want to find something to freak out a friend at 3am in the morning, I know what to search for.

nightmare_fuel is hardly unique to this booru, either. I'm just going to say that it's one of the few subjective tags I whole-heartedly support, for blacklisting purposes.

Yup! I learned nightmare_fuel here also. :D and a lot of random "hey, there's a tag for that? Huh, I'm kinda into this, cool!" things also. :D

I also really agree with ikdind too... Nightmare_fuel gets my support. So does epic, actually... but I could happy get rid of what_has_science_done and a few others.

It's an implication, not an alias.

"nightmare_fuel" pictures are scary, but not all scary pictures can be classified "nightmare fuel" Having "nightmare_fuel" imply "scary" makes more sense to me than the other way around.
