zelda is a character :/

This is true, but a great many zelda pictures don't have Princess Zelda in it. Princess_zelda is a tag as well and has 40 some odd images in it.
*I* would propose that 'Zelda' is aliased to 'legend of zelda', because if Princess Zelda is in an image, 'legend of zelda' applies also, and some soul will probably come along and tag the princess in if needed.

Speaking of stuff that makes your eyebrow raise...

Thanks for that, didn't realise there's two different legend of zelda tags...
Well, basically this Zelda tag needs proper cleanup and aliasing. Proposal:
princess_zelda for character
the_legend_of_zelda for the series
Both zelda and legend_of_zelda to alias to the_legend_of_zelda
princess_zelda to implicate the_legend_of_zelda, along with all other zelda-relevant tags.

Sounds about right.
Unfortunatly, I think implications and aliases are still broken?

The magic of FRIENDSHIP!
Unfortunately, this is one problem ducttape can't fix.

We've been locked out of aliasing and implications for months. Who's supposed to be working on it?

We don't have anyone willing to fix it.

Actually, fixing the tag alias/implication confirming would be very simple. Here's a sample of a unapproved alias.
<tr class="odd pending-tag">
<td><input type="checkbox" name="aliases[1910]" value="1" class="pending"></td>
<td><a href="/post?tags=against_tree">against_tree</a> (5)</td>
<td><a href="/post?tags=against_wall">against_wall</a> (297)</td>
<td>Same concept, different surface</td>
</tr>
We just need a button that can remove the "pending-tag" from the first line, and probably the "class="pending"" from the second line. It looks that simple, really.

Well, we could, but due the nature of the site, we can't get just anyone to help us. But if anyone knows someone skilled with Ruby on Rails, and can work for free, I'm sure Varka would let them help out.

Out of curiosity, what broke it in the first place? I mean.. other boorus have aliases that work... did we try to do something weird, pr...? I swear if I wasn't programmingstupid, I'd look some stuff up, but I'm an idiot about that sort of stuff and I'd probably break something.
Maybe it's time to change the 'mascot changer' message with a "wanted, programer"?

The system was changed with the release of e621 2.2

They don't have to work for free. That'd be nice, sure, but we DO have at least some money to spend. Varka is currently looking to pay someone for fixing up several of the bugs on the site. Any work that would require a significant amount of time (such as adding new features) would have to be volunteer though.

Well, that's an even better incentive then!

Unfortunately Riversyde... this wouldn't do anything to the database. which is entirely separate from the html. The classes are only there to fill in some specialty css. :)
