Not an alias, but an implication surely?

But then what if they're in another setting?

Being in another setting/location doesn't change what they are... please elaborate further on what you mean by this.

Mobian is a worthless tag. Why would anyone search for it?

Dunno. People tag it though.

Looking through mobian -sonic_(series) it seems using mobian without sonic_(series) means a Sonic fan character. So we should remove mobian and add sonic_(series) and fan_character to those posts.

Disagree. If it is 100% non-canon (i.e. only fan character alone without any actual sonic series characters/settings/etc) it should not be considered in the series, period. Allowing non-canon characters would probably open up too many problems.

As far as I'm concerned.. the text on the mobian wiki page says 'of or pertaining to the sonic_(series) universe.'

Which to me sounds like mobian is a redundant tag.

mobian -sonic_(series) results in *4* pictures.

1 is on sonichu (who has 26 other pictures 6 of which are tagged sonic_(series), 3 of which are tagged mobian (including the errant image -- the other two look like they were drawn by an 8 year old.) and most of which are obvious lolsonichu)

1 (post #110710) is on a piece of mel_the_hybrid's work and I have no earthly idea if any of the characters in question are from the sonic-verse, but I suspect it's a 'one of this species' sort of thing.

1 appears to be an official sonic character (post #370854) and as such, I am adding sonic_(series) to it, but please correct me of I'm wrong. my sonic knowledge is limited)

the last is pretty clearly in the sonic style and is a drawing of Maverick_skye. the other 63 pictures of him do NOT have the mobian tag.. . so I'm going to take it as a random discrepancy and remove the tag. :)

for those of us keeping score at home, this reduced mobian -sonic_(series) to two posts: 1 sonichu, one mel the hybrid.

Considering the state of the sonichu tag, (which really should be friggin nuked from orbit -- really, WTF is post #19705 doing here?) I'd just as happily untag mobian from all sonichu images, as people looking for mobians probably won't be looking for this.

As for Mel's drawing... well.. I dunno. we could just slap sonic_(series) on it, be done with it, or ask her how 'mobian' applies to the image and find a better tag to apply to it.

and with that, the mobian -sonic_(series) is empty, and we could alias, or jsut get rid of the mobian tag entirely.

Also, while digging, I discovered the sonic_style tag, which maybe should be used more to cover fan_characters in that style. (even though sonic style is also used on cannon characters too. Hmm..)

oh well. my 2..... 3... eh.. tha'ts probably about a quarter, now.

"Mobians are the inhabitants of the planet Mobius from various Sonic the Hedgehog continuities." This means they're only Mobian if they're featured in a Sonic continuity. So proclaimed Sonic "fan characters" should not be tagged with mobian OR sonic_(series). I do agree with sonic_style, though.

Exactly!
