Most of the sites I browse for don't "include" the source or artist. It's not like I'm fishing through deviant art or F.A you know. I include the artist if its there, or on the picture itself {And I can READ It. Damn wacky artist sigs} otherwise I won't include it if I don't know it.

This. I always do some searching if I can find ANY indicative sign of who might have posted it, but, unforunatly... :(

the only artist we know about so far is megasweet I believe the artist is called

I list the artist when I can, but a lot of the Pony sites just don't have that information. Equestria Daily has recently started to try to list the source on their DrawFriend posts, but most sites just don't.
