Topic: Tag aliasing: cuntboy -> ftm; dickgirl -> mtf -- opinions?

this was brought up in another thread... but after... a whole lot of text... this may get a bit wordy, but I want everyone to understand, so please read, and comment-- or at least say yes or no.

I'm honestly not sure how I feel on the topic. This isn't a promise, or threat of change... but I want everyone to have a chance to say something about it.

Here's the... very tentative proposal:

cuntboy would be aliased to ftm
dickgirl would be aliased to mtf
MTF and FTM already imply transgender... we'd also have to add mtf and ftm as implying intersex to keep with the current ability for someone to blacklist 'intersex' and hide all non-binary (male and female) genders.

Cuntboys, as you know, are male characters with a pussy. That is, they identify as male, they are flat chested, but they lack a penis, and testicles, and instead have a pussy. Dickgirls are female characters with penises. They identify as female, they have breasts, but lack a vagina, instead, having a penis and balls.

FtM is an abbreviation that means 'Female to Male'... it refers to a transexual individual who was born with a female body, but has decided to have a sex change and live as the other gender. They identify, mentally, as male, despite not having the genitals that a "man" typically possesses.

MtF is an abbreviation that means 'Male to Female'... as you can imagine, it's the same as an FtM, only the other way around.

Cuntboy and dickgirl are... somewhat derogatory ways of referring to characters and people like this. But we can't label a cuntboy 'male' without angering viewers who may not want to see such things, despite the fact that it is correct (for self-identification purposes, if not actual biological make up)...

In the furry fandom, and indeed, the internet 'hentai' community at large, cuntboys and dickgirls are often the result of magic, potions, science, or natural genetics, but regardless of the method, the end result is the same--a character who's sexual characteristics do not align with their mental characteristics. It doesn't really matter if the change was brought on by a magic user, a potion, the magical power of science, or hormone therapy.

So.. what would be the big changes here?

  • People probably need to update their blacklists to say 'ftm' or 'mtf' rather then cuntboy/dickgirl
  • People will have to get used to the new method of tagging
  • There are a few images that are probably not quite fitting to the 'transgender' tag inside 'transgender' (better suited to crossgender)

Again.. this is all.. a hypothetical at this point.

What do you guys think? *especially* those of you who are, or HAVE cuntboy/dickgirl/mtf/ftm/transgender characters, or an interest in them. If your'e too shy to speak up, then send me a mail :)

Updated

As long as I can keep cuntboys relatively easily black-listed, I could care less if they got labeled as "Man_With_Pussy".

normally i wouldnt have anything to say on such a topic, but in this case...i do. not every so-called 'cuntboy' or 'dickgirl/shemale' can be determined as being that way due to a shift in their bodies from magic, chemicals, potions or otherwise. to cause such a tag alias would be insulting to those who's characters were BORN such a way. as in, say a 'cuntboy' for example. one born such a way would chromosomically be male, XY, but again...have that flat-chested male-esque body, and contain female genitalia. in contrast, 'dickgirls/shemales' are the other way around. XX chromosomes, have feminine figure, but bear a dick.

so, while normally i'd agree with such an aliasing...i do have to bring up the detail of 'natural-born cuntboy and dickgirl' characters. i myself don't have one, but i am being considerate of those who may. after all...one cant be BORN a transgendered person, or...transvestite or whatever term is proper here. transsexual? i dunno. point is, consider what this would mean for characters that are natural-born versions of these.

XX chromosomes means you grow a vagina, not a dick. XY means that you grow a dick, not a vag. Even XXY or XXYYmeans guys (Having a single Y chromosome marks you as genetically, definitively, male) with smaller than normal testes and decreased fertility/possible infertility, and slightly feminine builds (with a large volume of them suffering from gynomastia). There is no such thing as a "naturally born" cuntboy or dickgirl. It is an incredibly rare condition to be born with more than the 46 chromosomes. Even if a female is born with AIS (Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome), and is karyotypically XY, phenotypically and physically she is still female; it doesn't inhibit female growth in genitalia and other aspects.

That all said, the Furry fandom has created the "naturally born" cuntboy and the Japanese has created the "naturally born" futanari dickgirl, both with working parts. As this is physically/visually no different from any other intersex transgender, pre/no-op, aside from subjective interpretation, it should be marked as such. the term transgender means "across gender" and cuntboys and dickgirls do fit into this catagory, as they display characteristics of BOTH sexes.

I can't really see this as being a popular idea, since it cuntboys and dickgirls are popular fetish material and lumping them in to a broader category will make it harder for people to find them. If you're just doing it for the sake of blacklists, I'd recommend using implications instead.

I'm in favor of just keeping cuntboy and dickgirl.

-1; cuntboy and dickgirl are fictional sexes, not in-between states in transitioning. Don't blur the two.

Suggest implications {ftm, mtf, and their "x2y" variants} → "transsexual".

Perhaps the non-trans versions can imply "intersex" or "fictional_intersex".

Also, keep gender identification out of it. That's not verifiable from the pic a lot of the time.

To be honest, this is kind of dumb and a little offensive.

Keep it as it is, don't fix what isn't broken.

I'm for the change, just or the record, though I don't mind it staying the way it is either, so long as we don't change cuntboys to female and dickgirls to male. that would be insulting to those of us who have characters who are either cuntboys/dickgirls or ftm/mtf, or those of us who actually are ftm/mtf.

I'm having problems coming up with the words to express how much I do not want this to happen. Just count me against this change and I'll try to post my reasoning tomorrow.

No, no, and no. A lot of furry characters were "born" as dickgirls or whatever for some crazy reason.

Being transgendered doesn't mean that you're necessarily transitioning. There are a number of people, some quite notable, that identify as being in that transgendered state as a permanent state, rather than trying to associate with either male or female, as appropriate. Trans means across or through, and transgender meaning across gender would be an appropriate meta for both cuntboy and dickgirls, due to being effectively across the two genders.

Again, I feel it must be said. So long as it remains easy to keep them blacklisted for those of us who do not like them, and easy to find for those that do, it's fine. Given the current tags implicate that without fault, I dunno about changing them.

Repeating along with nearly everybody for effect: Dickgirl/cuntboy, while being usable ways to describe a partial FtM or MtF body, are not automatically that. Intersex != transgender, although one does overlap on the other, of course. Still, it's not a 100% overlap, therefore aliasing would be a mistake.

Opinions are clearly biased in one direction, so I'm pretyt sure we can see how this will turn out, but I"m going to leave this open for more comments on the matterover the next few days..

Updated by anonymous

Alright. everyone seems to be neutral to negative on this idea, so there will be no changes implemented on this matter...

Thank you everyone for your comments, and though it's not something I normally enjoy doing, I'm locking this topic to prevent possible future explosions, and terrible thread necroing.
