Sometimes the one is used, sometimes the other, and sometimes both.

Unless I'm missing something here and they're supposed to be used for different things (ie only pure black and pure white vs shades of grey) which is not how they're currently used, these should probably be aliased.

Black and White/Monochrome = Only Black and White
Grayscale = All colors in between both black > gray > white

That's one possibility, but as I said that's not how they're used right now. The way they're used right now, they both mean the same thing.

Also, monochrome is not the same thing as black and white. Monochrome literally means "one color", so it could be used for black and white or greyscale pictures, but also other colors .

Black_and_white implies monocrhome, not the other way around, so it is possible to tag other single color images with monocrhome, and I have in fact seen other single color images with that tag on it, so you're right, and that's already how it is! :p

I know it's already like that. Try clicking the words "other" and "colors". I merely mentioned it because

Well we do have multiple colors of color_and_white, while we only got one color of colorscale

While they have two different meanings like black_and_white mens one color only: 1 2 3

And greyscale means a multiple colors of one color: 1 2 3

So as i see it there are a couple of options

1# alias greyscale to black_and_white: because the are both practically used the same way. Even though it would be wrong technically

2# alias black_and_white to greyscale: but then again, we would have to alias all of the color_and_white to there fitting colorscale and they would still be wrong technically wrong

3# go trough all the black_and_white and greyscale images and tag them right

I vote aliasing black_and_white to greyscale and color_and_white to colorscale. it just sounds better to me and would be easier than going through and correcting tags.

i think we should just alias greyscale to black_and_white because black_and_white is used more
