True, though that depends on what you're using :p for, the typical one being teasing
Other examples: Panting (post #212055), licking (post #177686), or whatever's going on in post #31035
Also, it seems that :p implicates tongue_out

I doesn't really matter what you use :P for. All that tag does is saying "there is a/some character(s) with his/hers/there tongue(s) out" So why not just alias it to tongue_out

Personally, I would use :p for when the actual emoticon is visible in the image. If the emoticon isn't there, then any :p tag should be removed.

Yes it does because :P means a character is being cheeky, or like titan said, teasing, kind of like a little kid would blow a raspberry at somebody.
It's different from pics that have their tongue out from pleasure from sex or something similar like (gay warning: 57651)

Well looking through :P most of them, if not all could be replaced with silly, teasing, fucked_silly or just tongue_out
