Aliasing Sports → Sport

Reason:
This could be an American English vs British English thing but shorter is better.
Besides sports is plural and we prefer singular tags right?

It is and isn't. BrE tends to use both sport and sports ("I used to play a lot of sport" or "I used to play a lot of sports") whereas the latter is much more common in AmE. However "Baseball is a sports" is considered incorrect for both.
However, for our purposes singular makes more sense. Approved

- Implication: american_football -> sport
- Implication: baseball -> sport
- Implication: basketball -> sport
- and so on...
Sounds good to me. +1

Here are the ones I have found so far by trying to tag the sports in sport (still got about 90 to go)
not sure about this one
I also have problem with baseball being aliased to baseball_(ball) since it has lead to baseball_(ball) being littered with images that have no baseball balls in them
so I suggest
I also tried to clean up football by tagging them all with either american_football, australian_rules_football or soccer but might as well since it is used a lot.
and lastly for now,

Thanks for laying that out for us RandomArcticFox, that's extremely helpful. :)
I just have a couple comments (in no particular order):
Other than these it looks pretty solid. +1 to the baseball change and a definite +1 to all of the sports with a ball of some sort (those are easy). There's a couple I'm unsure of, but are probably okay (I just haven't looked at what's being tagged yet).
