  • I remember watching this for the first time. I thought "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" was as "adult" an animated movie could get. I wonder what people thought when they saw this in the 70's.

    I think Robert Crumb's misgivings were largely because Crumb either wanted more control or just didn't want it getting popular but Ralph Bakshi got rights through Crumb's wife.

    It'd be like making a cub movie out of one of the big Furry artists who normally keeps their cub stuff separate.

  • Also I don't think Fritz the Cat's influence on Furry can be understated. Fritz the Cat was suppose to be controversial. That was the point. But there were other adult animation + "Funny animals" at the time.
