  • With how many eggs a dragon lays in that world, I'm amazed they're not swimming in whelps... since he(she) surrendered his(her) humanity they went fucking for a solid 85 years (365.25 days each)... and the dates from first egg to routine laying states 98 days, for comming into terms with a routine must mean that she must have laid some more sometime in between, but just for raw numbers lets asume that's a clutch each 98 days, after they're shown having vaginal sex (and therefore impregnation) and with how fucking horny they are, that's 316 (.8) times she laid fertile eggs, and in the last panel is shown with 16 eggs, 15 on the ground and one comming out... lets say that one is the 0.2 missing for 317 clutches. Without her size changing between last 2 panels, lets say 16 is the average for het, so 317 x 16 = 5,062 new dragons... holy shit.

Meh, one high level adventurer should be capable of clearing them in a few runs.

Not to mention all the times that an adventurer like him is cursed to be a breeder.

but see thats assuming that all the babies make it to adulthood, a lot of the time in nature when a species lays tons of eggs, its cause theres a high mortality rate, look at turtles and crocodiles

At least now I don't have to do the math myself.

Considering there is obviously an occupation for hunting dragons, or at least it's something commonplace enough that a knight would know the average items obtained by a defeated dragon, then high mortality rate is probably right.

Then again, this isn't just the average dragon we're observing here. This is a dragon killer being transformed int a dragon layer. This could just be what happens to knights who are cursed and transformed. A normal dragon might only lay a much more conservative number of eggs, and this curse is a tool employed by the dragons to help keep their numbers stable or growing even when confronted with overzealous hunting.
