  • I recently escaped from a controlling "relationship" exactly like this... Only the leverage against me was the puppy he "gave" me. Now I moved out and my beautiful dog is dead.

You're not alone, I escaped from such a "relationship" too, though that was years ago. The final straw was being called a "slave". After that, I up and left. I'm terribly sorry about your dog too, I'm sure he's having fun in puppy heaven right now.

Thank you all. I felt numb for a while but it is good to know I am not alone like poor Theo.

  • At first I didn't like that this whole thing wasn't a dream but the way they've handled the aftermath has changed my mind on it.

  • Being the infodump person it not something I really want to do, especially on this website- nothing against it, mind- but while I was initially as annoyed as anyone at the turn this comic took away from the characters had been build up, I got... curious.

1950's Hollywood was not a nice place. Early in the comic the name 'Louis B. Mayer' is dropped, the then head of MGM. So the next question, naturally is, did anything sordid happen behind the scenes at MGM? Oh, a lot. Like the fact Mayer himself was know for publicly groping Judy Garland on set of 'The Wizard of Oz', a set where Ms Garland was similarly frequently felt up by the little people playing the munchkins, according to her own tape recordings for a planned autobiography.

As an interesting aside, the munchkin cast members were payed less per day than that dog playing Toto. But that's off point, though I think it builds the character of the studio some.

What about the fact there was a brothel owned by Mayer? And he forced James Stewart to visit it to prove how 'straight' he was. And Hollywood in general at the time, had a really surprising (or not) number or big male stars with very... close male relationships. Cary Grant was probably gay, to name the biggest suspect, but also Liberace and Rock Hudson. But also, two of Judy Garland's husbands were secretly gay. One she found in bed with the son of someone they worked with.

Basically as I ramble, I'm saying that I can't know the author's intention with this. Are they trying to make a point about sexual abuses in 1950's Hollywood with that now infamous orgy? I don't know, but they are making one, even if they don't mean to. Because, while its gratuitous and a little exploitative, since this is porn, that sex scene lives and dies on elements that WERE present in 1950's Hollywood. Secret gay men? Oh plenty! studio execs and family member involved in molesting or having secret affairs with actors or each other? You bet. Did it go down like this comic? who knows, but its more plausible than it appears at first.

  • Just realize that people like that suffer far more in the end as they will have alienated any true friends that might have been. It will be a cold and lonely place they suffer in.

  • Ok I'm serious I really don't like milo.
If he hits poor Theo in the head with that guitar I'm gonna be so mad. But *shrug* so goes the plot. Still a great story
