This is where tag what you see comes into play. I think it would've been more appropriate if it were tagged as "ambiguous" and "feminine" as no genitals are clearly in view and therefore we have no way of telling for sure what gender the character in question is just by looks alone. As for that spot under his butt, that could be his perineum but it's still too ambiguous to give it the male tag just off of that alone.

I get that genders even of official characters get changed, but officially beau is male. Also any other depictions of this character by the same artist are male.
