Every time I see this comic I always ask myself the same question, Why, if they have such abilities, don't use them to defend themselves? If only those two alone could create a storm, a few dozens of them could level entire armies, so why don't they do it?

I think its mainly cause they don't want to be the monsters that those w say they are.

So, are they supposed to just watch silently as they are killed on by one, while I get the point of not wanting to become a monster, sometimes there is no other choice against injustice.

I mean, there's no reason they can't just use their powers defensively. Frost could probably make walls of ice to shield himself, and I imagine Cinder could improvise a flashbang using lightning.

My only thought when it comes to this kinda story is why military domination hasnt been capturing them all to force them to become living weapons, but from previous articles i would say that their powers are emotionally linked and not able to be controlled through the helltouched themselves which could leave the option of militarisation or rebellion null
