If their speech was impaired, it would be something else and not amnesia. Additionally, people that have amnesia may lose memory of events but still retain skills like bicycle riding or playing an instrument.

Problems with talking are called dysphasias. Completely forgetting how to talk is aphasia. Amnesia is by definition the loss of episodic memory i.e. your memories of specific moments and experiences, but does not usually involve the loss of functional memory i.e. your skillsets. Hope that helps.

Amnesia = Forgetting Memory, loosing Memory. Basis = Doesn't know of past or pressence.

There are many different things but Amnesia is the focus of memory loss and nothing else it all is based on memory. While other Syntomes like procrastinator said are more phased onto speech.

Just to clarify here, there's more or less two types of memories. "personal memories" and "learned actions". People with amnesia will still remember how to walk, and write, and drive a car, and fly a plane, they just may not remember their childhood or personal details.
